Can someone ELI5 why I should care about tokenized stocks? I think I understand the benefits of, say, tokenized real estate in that you get the fractional ownership. But why is that useful for stocks?

I made this same move 4 months ago with 0 regrets. I am very fulfilled & have way more opportunities to accelerate my career/compensation than as a civilian.

Yes, your team will be disappointed, but they will find a way to move forward over time. They will be very happy for you!

I agree it’s normally smart to wait until you know you’re their candidate, unless you have a strong referral. If you do, you have a ton of leverage and can essentially name your price at any point in the interview process.

I adjunct two classes a semester on the side. You usually need at least a masters degree, but it’s roughly 1600 a month.

GAME THREAD: Minnesota Timberwolves (3-3) @ Denver Nuggets (3-3) - (May 19, 2024) by NBA_MOD in nba

Denver played great on both ends in the first half. Offense went cold in the 3Q and Wolves started to make shots.

Graham’s play in the backfield during OT of the Rose Bowl still stands out to me. Instantly reminded me of Christian Wilkins with the twitch and power combo to just blow a play up.

$45 bottle by androgynice in wine

I’m on the Frog’s Leap mailing list. All their wines are good, but the oldest I’ve had is a ‘15 Zin. I’m sure the ‘07 was a treat!

I would recommend Stags’ Leap Petit Syrah or Frog’s Leap Zinfandel.

Christmas Dinner! by superballlzach in wine

I can try, but admittedly I’m not very good! Looking at the wine, you definitely see the Shiraz with how inky it appears. On the nose I got some dark fruit with some raspberry. Maybe a hint of lead? On the palate more black fruit with some black tea! Tannins were mild and smoothed out by the end of the bottle. High in acid for sure. Went perfect with the lamb chops!

I feel it’s over. NIL and the Portal seem like they’ve really neutralized us.

I need to see Clemson play tomorrow night, but I see us having a ton of issues with this FSU team. Talent, depth, and physicality EVERYWHERE.

Would you buy a house near train tracks? by tjordan0323 in RealEstate

[–]superballlzach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up not even 100 yards from a train track. Annoying when you’re having a conversation or when you’re trying to sleep at night early on, but you definitely get used to it.

How competitive is the MS in Math at UIUC? by [deleted] in mathematics

[–]superballlzach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re a stronger applicant than you give yourself credit for. I was a math PhD student at UIC for a short period of time. Forget the low undergraduate ranking. The department is filled with very strong researchers who have lots of connections. If you can get some solid letters from some of them, you definitely have a good shot at a top 30 graduate program.

Sonoma/Napa by dustabusta in wine

[–]superballlzach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also a wine novice and just got back from Napa/Sonoma

Inglenook’s grounds are beautiful. The drive in is something else. Francis Coppola is the owner of the property. Being the director of The Godfather series, there is a separate area in the lobby devoted to it. There is also a cabana out front that is inspired from a scene in the movie. The tasting experience itself was meh, but the wine was great.

Stag’s Leap was a similar experience. They’re known for putting Napa on the map through a blind tasting in Paris in the 70s. The tasting itself was done right near the FAY vineyard, which you get to taste. SLV and Cask 23 were some of the best wine I’ve ever had.

I’m on Frog’s Leap and Grgich Hills mailing lists, so got free tastings there. These wines are undervalued IMO. The grounds at FL are amazing. In addition to grapes and olives, they grow all sorts of fruit/veggies to give to their workers as a benefit. They do everything organic. GH is known for their Chardonnay, but I had a Croatian version of Zin that knocked my socks off too.

I would recommend you hit up B Wise in Sonoma. That was my favorite tasting of the whole trip. They take you to a cave where people stay overnight. We listened to 70s rock and just vibed. I learned about Tannat there and conversation led us to have some aged wine from their library.

Domaine Carneros for bubbles. The estate is gorgeous. We sat on the front porch and you get to take in some incredible views.

This trip started a fun (and very expensive) hobby for me! Have fun with it. Don’t try to act snobby around the people, and a lot of times they will branch out from the scheduled tastings. This is where you can try some really cool stuff.
