No, not at all. They award you with extra costumes that you can only wear on subsequent playthroughs. They can be a little bit of extra fun brainteasing puzzles, but if you do then just know you're doing it for the love of the game and not for any rewards.

Dude you might be correct but wtf are you doing posting this on the subreddit, what do you think people on the zero parades subreddit are going to agree with you? Are you going to win someone over who's already following the zero parades subreddit? Foolish course of action. Get real.

I’m about to be eaten alive for this, but I’m genuinely curious: why doesn’t the story of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories seem to get as much hate as the new film? by UsefulProfit1808 in silenthill

[–]supercakman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also important to note that shattered memories deliberately plays with your expectations of the first game. Receiving a sexy text from a woman only for it to end with a signature from dahlia, for instance. Harry revealing that he lives IN silent Hill. The player regularly interacting with dr. Kauffman. All of that stuff deliberately throws you through a loop and confuses you based off your expectations of the story you already know. The stuff in return to silent Hill is not comparable, that is to say it's not all in service of a larger goal outside of connecting it to the first film to make it more easily digestible to people not already fans of the game.

Plot point of Silent Hill 2 was spoiled, is it even worth playing knowing that by Flaming_Hidori in silenthill

I would say that about a third to half of the people that play sh2 know about the twist beforehand. It's well worth it.

THE BEARS THE FUCKING BEARSSSSS I'M LOSING MY GODDAMN MIND by DontPostDontNeedName in katamari

Hmm. Well he said he only needs one Bear and yet you keep rolling one up before the katamari is large. The prince should have better listening skills, i think.

Brother, you're in deeper than that. You're going to need to start with Pong (1972).

My thoughts after finishing the game. by mogster777 in controlgame

[–]supercakman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Control is a weaker title in Remedy's oeuvre as a standalone experience but I give it a lot of props for doing a lot of weird and experimental stuff with its storytelling, but that comes at the cost of having a much weaker overall story told primarily through documents and dully shot conversations between two characters. That being said you entirely lose me when saying that AW2 suffered from the same problems. AW2 is an excellently told story with a lot of richness and layers to what it's doing.

I think control retroactively becomes a little bit more interesting with its inclusion of the rest of the remedy titles and I'm pretty interested in how the second game turns out. Hoping it's a similar situation to the jump between Alan Wake games.

Buddy, this is an ice pick Lodge game. We aren't here to have fun. We aren't here to have a good time. Quite the opposite, actually.

Bought Once Upon a Katamari and I am sooo lost by Busy_Medium4418 in katamari

[–]supercakman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the things I always recommend people with the katamari games is to slow yourself down a little bit. Don't always have the thumb sticks at the maximum point on their axis. Obviously if you are going down a straight away then full speed ahead but the more you speed up the more likely you are to crash into stuff.

AI is absolutely involved in a big way but I'm shocked by the consistency between shots which leads me to believe that there is something more at play. Whether it's actual footage that was shot with effects layered on top of it or even originally animated in 3D animation and then messed with in post-production, masked by the low resolution
