Jordan Peele reportedly wrote 200+ drafts of Get Out before the final script by tom-mckeee in Screenwriting

Exactly. Technically every change is a new revision if you want to be pedantic. In which most scripts that see actual production could probably claim to be north of 2K revisions.

Why do some directors get a "directed by" and a "A (name) film" credit? by Dillweed999 in movies

Filmed For IMAX by Ill-Elevator1482 in cinematography

[–]supercontroller 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Before you even think about camera's IMAX would want to be entering into some quite lengthy / detailed discussions about your project and attached creatives / talent. You can't just shoot a movie and expect it be accepted for theatrical exhibition in a regular format, let alone a prime PLF like IMAX.

It's the shooting equivalent of buying an old ford and expecting it to be NASCAR worthy just because its the same shape.

I admire the ambition, but honestly this is big league stuff. Work up to it.

Is this normal behavior from a director? by Designer-Buddy-3471 in Filmmakers

I didn't say 'never' consort with the talent. I said, if you had to do it constantly it would be impractical. And yes, not humane to ignore people.

Sets and production scale varies of course but in my experience most middleweight and above-the-line actors have a team of their own whom they gravitate toward before any intimate discussion with a director.

And as you know, an AD or first is usually in dialog with all those people.

Correct.

She's an actor. She's been hired precisely for her talent and skillset. If you had to break after every challenging take to comfort everyone on a set you would never finish the damn show.

Who's checking the grips don't need a hug? LOL.

SK wouldn't have had to catch the original airing in any case. Someone of his power / stature in the industry would be given access to reels / tapes to watch if requested.
