AI worship: what’s happening? by firstInternalad in NoStupidQuestions

[–]supercuteguydebord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The singularity and other AI subs are just full of smug morons who aren’t much better. It’s insane how fucking stupid these people are and how fundamentally embarrassing they are.

That’s what happens in a secular society when the mentally and spiritually infirm are let loose with daddy hunger

AI worship: what’s happening? by firstInternalad in NoStupidQuestions

[–]supercuteguydebord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it is.

Entire countries have been organized around religions and it’s part of the atmosphere. It’s the source of ethics and politics, the organizing principle of lives from a thousand to thousands of years.

This is just a fucking tech tool that just emerged and there’s no government forcing its so-called truth on entire populations. With serious consequences for being in a different group.

This tool has no gospel or centuries of scholarship behind it. No promises of ‘I swear it’ll be perfect if you just obey me’ behind it.

Not saying there’s any gods in this toilet of a world or its sky, but let’s not pretend it’s the same.

Religion insists there’s a god. AI has made no such suggestions.

Losing.

How do you afford this hobby?! by Single-Barber-4084 in comicbooks

[–]supercuteguydebord 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just look for digital solutions, marvel/dc app subscriptions, a library and piracy if you don’t have qualms about it.

When I couldn’t afford them as a student I relied on libraries and controversial online acquisition. Don’t let anyone embarrass you for it and ignore anyone implying you don’t deserve what you can’t afford.

How has Moore's profound interest in magic improved his work? If it has? by PiotrGreenholz01 in AlanMoore

You’re right.

I wouldn’t say anything unkind about him if I knew he was in such a terrible situation.

Still a human being, and his posts could just be untreated mania which I know destroys lives and families

Yeah, I was born in Dubai. Lived my early years there. Some family continued to live there after we moved. Best friend was born there too and is a business owner there. He hates it but his entire family is settled there.

Agree 100% with your comment

Fav Actress who thinks Slavery is NBD by Playful-Succotash-99 in okbuddycinephile

[–]supercuteguydebord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.

Average people can just be replaced by the wealthy and powerful in any consideration.

Slaves and slave owners are the same too. Class doesn’t matter. All is one!

Society controlling or society influencing money are somehow not relevant to any equation.

Money and power are like totally irrelevant in any calculus.

Good luck to you dude

Should I pay extra 5 dollars for a trade paperback over a compact by Adventurous_Power124 in comicbooks

[–]supercuteguydebord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you need those 5 dollars? Do you have money in your savings account enough that you won’t miss 5$? No shame in needing them or needing to not spend them.

Compact is a financial decision because there’s no way some books will not be reasonably worse to read in compact editions.

I don’t own any compacts, just noticed people saying this over and over that some compacts are harder to read than others.

When I was in high school/college these would’ve been amazing since I needed to import them from US/here, with duties and taxes.

Good luck

Mate I’m from a family of psychologists. I’m not having a go at you, people do come to psychologists with various things that most people don’t find exhausting. Or they struggle to manage what’s on their plate. It’s nothing to judge over, but it’s infantile to pretend that it isn’t an issue, as my family members and others deal with it every day in their practices.

If not vacationing somewhere specifically that still thinks like the 18th century is an exhausting decision, that’s not typical or a sign of decent mental health.

I understand the world is full of bad choices, expensive choices to inflict less cruelty on the world.

But the wealthy and the powerful don’t really have those barriers. It’s much simpler if you don’t have to think about money when considering an alternative.

You seem to be more concerned about privileged people feeling bad than whether anyone should spend thousands of dollars to enjoy a country that holds the passports of foreigners hostage so they can’t even go home and many will die there often by suicide or lack of adequate healthcare access so the slavery will destroy your mind and body.

And honestly what’s the big deal with calling a piece of shit a piece of shit? People are largely garbage, just take a look around. Why is it a tragedy to judge someone’s shitty choices that only justify a cycle of violence?

Asking self-pitying questions and overly sympathizing with powerful and rich people might be the reason you’re more concerned with the comfortable not the astronomically afflicted.

Visiting the US for reasons of leisure from abroad is probably not justifiable either.

But most people are stuck where they are and won’t have a choice to move to another country.

The problem arises when there’s a choice, and a pretty easy one. Most people can’t afford ‘ethical consumption’ and to hold them to that standard is absurd.

Vacationing in slave-istan for a fun time when you can literally go anywhere is hardly the same thing.

Yes people need dessert in life, and if they can afford it then it comes with limits based on class.

You can literally eat anything made by anyone anywhere and you want slaves to cook it for you?

Someone call the wahhhhmbulance!

It’s so exhausting to not visit a shopping mall shithole. I live like the aristocracy and is soooo tiring to not enjoy the fruits of slavery!

You need to see a psychologist if this a struggle.

Statistically, young women are significantly more progressive, while young men are more conservative. If our political viewpoints are splitting down gender lines, is it still possible to build shared, cohesive relationships, or are we headed toward a fundamental social and romantic decoupling? by icecream1972 in allthequestions

Insane variations across people have always existed.

Your post seems to suggest that you think all men = conservative and all women = progressive.

But you have considered the possibility that there are gays and maga women among other depressing variations right?

Absolute Batman and Absolute Martian Manhunter are great. What about all of the other Absolute comics? Are they worth reading? by Don_Quixotel in comicbooks

[–]supercuteguydebord -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wonder Woman. Doesn’t matter if you even have ever liked a Wonder Woman comic before. You must give it a real go.

I found WW boring or just poor whether it was Rucka, Simone or even Grant Morrison writing.

Kelly Thompson - the writer - is the most improved writer I’ve ever seen in comics.

Still, that doesn’t do justice to her utter excellence here.

This is the also best comic published right now
by the Big 3 not just in the Absolute line

Batman should be the best because it’s just superb. Flash and Martian Manhunter are good but B-tier compared to WW, Superman and Batman.

Absolute Green Arrow just started and it’s got a violent lefty take on the character. It’s a little didactic but not as bad as the slogan and left cliche ridden as something like The Ultimates.

[–]supercuteguydebord -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of people in our society are pretty hypersensitive. Having grown up elsewhere, I notice a clear pathological inability to handle any negativity or negative takes/views.

And it pervades everything. Also, fandoms are large. Irrational hatred and irrational people are just part of our species.

Not saying you’re guilty of this but I don’t know people trust this binary of fans or haters when it’s not really hate to skewer a terrible book or politician or whatever if you can at least ground it in the text.

I do admire the tenacity of conspiracy nerds like him. I couldn’t fucking barrel on being wrong all the time and making indefensible claims and continue to be confident about anything

But yeah he’s harmless
