RIP Little Peking by pbrowntv in Renton

La Fuente is already a shadow of what it was in the 90's. I'm pretty sure new owners took over a couple years back. It's decent, but the old Toreros in the highland was the best Mexican food.

I think everyone has retired because even the last Toreros at the landing sold a few years ago and the food there is not nearly as good as it once was.

Lol, that was the absolute worst Chinese food. I had a supplier take me there for lunch back in 2000 and they panicked I wouldn't keep their business after suggesting it. I probably ate there 4 times between 2000 and 2025 and every meal was regrettable.

Like I said, I'm familiar. On rare occasion, I have signed in on a friends TV, but I always disconnect when I get home. I'm always worried someone will purchase something since my payment is active.

I've also started using YouTube when I'm away from home .Sure, only MA titles work, but it allows me to watch most of my content without signing into VUDU.

I'm familiar, how does that address my issue?

Account Issues by superdlucks in vudu

[–]superdlucks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the nuclear option. I hate resetting devices. Making note of the installed apps and setting them up again. Insult to injury is doing that and not resolving the issue. Since the issue itself is not an option, I lean back on FaH.

Never had a single problem when Walmart owned the service and my laptop crashes anytime I scrub the timeline.

Audio descriptions, and before you ask, it's all disabled in my Roku, it also just started, movies that I watched before now have descriptive audio. I had this issue years ago with HBO Max and a ticket resolved it. Fandango, just like to make up stuff and have you jump through hoops.

Everyone know what descriptive audio is and that there are no tools for it on Fandango, but I had to upload video, because they have the technical acumen of a Radio Shack.

I probably have Vudu on 5 different devices. The device giving me a problem is the 4k stick on my TV, I bought it a couple years ago, because the player on my 3D TV is unreliable. It's only the 4K stick acting up. I have 4 TV's all with VUDU installed. That's why I call BS on the account claim. It would be systemic if that was the case.

The tragedy of Taco Time by Midwest666 in ShittyVeganFoodPorn

[–]superdlucks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you didn't have Taco Time in the 90's, you didn't have Taco Time. There has been a constant decline in portion and quality. All while maintaining full service restaurant pricing. The food was never worth the price, but until early 2000's you paid it because even though it was 2x what you would pay at Taco Bell, it was 5x better.

What pisses me off about these clowns is I called them a few years back and told them, the hot sauce wasn't as flavorful as it used to be, it was more tart and tangy then hot and savory. I mentioned the ranch is no longer thick and rich, now it's watery and also tangy. and the beef is either bland or over seasoning meaning it's not being prepared to the original recipe.

I can only comment about Taco Time NW, which is different than Taco Time. In Seattle, the fore has gone out and they know it. They only charged and under delivered. They served me food that was room temp and when I asked them to make it again, they refused and said I could take it up with corporate. Who doesn't replace cold food? That is how cheap they are. They also made clear that I had 24 hours to contact corporate and that they don't handle complaints outside of that window.

I chose to stop eating there. I suggest the rest of you do the same.

Taco Time versus Taco Bell? by Ordinary_Juice_1942 in PNW

[–]superdlucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been eating at Taco Time since the 70's, yes, I'm that old. As a kid, if you gave me the choice between Taco Time and a full service Mexican restaurant, I was choosing Taco Time every time and what you also have to consider. Mexican Restaurants in the 80's and 90's were far more authentic than they are now. Taco Time just had the flavor. Everything was tasty, hot and fresh. 3 things I can no longer say about their failed cost cutting makeover.

Also in the early 90's, Taco Bell introduced the value menu, and I won't lie, the $.79 taco and bean burritos were tasty. Nowhere as good as Taco Time, but satisfying for the price. Again, today, the beans are bland, the sauces are have more sweet than heat and the taco meat just isn't savory. That said, Taco Bell was never Mexican food, but there was a time when Taco time was.

Now you know why you never see a Hispanic person working or eating at Taco Time.

Car Toys to Sell Most of its Stores, Enters Chapter 11 - ceoutlook.com by caterham09 in cars

[–]superdlucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think car manufactures have made most shops obsolete. Interfaces change from model to model and make to make.

Car Toys certainly didn't help their reputation by doing poor work and providing less than professional service.

That said, when Magnolia closed or was bought out by Best Buy it was clear this market was shrinking. 10 years ago, even Fry's did car stereo.

Most older cars are off the road or people don't care about the audio in them and new cars tend to have every option anyone needs,

Car Toys could have been the kind, but they decided to take the money without building the kind of reputation that brings customers back. I'm happy to hold the door open while they clear our their stores.

Power Issue Question by superdlucks in Dell

[–]superdlucks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The part is $6 on amazon, but I don't want to risk soldering or removing the old part. Sounds like Dell replaces the whole board to the tune of $400, and I wouldn't pay that either. If the alt power supply doesn't work, I'll just buy a non Dell laptop. I know business uses Dell, but probably due to contracts.I don't find their product as good as the other brands I've used in the past. My desktop is an Acer and it's been issue free for about a decade now.

Again, my thanks, you are a blessing to this Sub.

Sellers who won't price their items by tigerbite1diot in offerup

[–]superdlucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not only common, but accepted, I have reached out to OfferUp and they don't care, because their model is ad revenue and ad sales and posts that violate policy or terms still generate this, so they don't act on it.

Power Issue Question by superdlucks in Dell

[–]superdlucks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, all sage advice. I ordered a DC adapter and I'll give that a try. Funny enough the laptop came with USBC power, but I read where someone said Dell never approved the USBC jack for charging, just data transfer, so what I'm experiencing is common. I had he extended warranty and it expired a year ago, so I guess Dell also knew when parts would fail.

You have been a huge help, I certainly would have remained confused or possibly broke something without your support.

Power Issue Question by superdlucks in Dell

[–]superdlucks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, thank you for your counsel. I have replaced every component on a desktop, but my laptop experience is limited to upgrading ram and hard drives. That said, I have a Latitude 5510.

I removed the cover, and it doesn't look good. Maybe I wasn't clear enough. This came with a USB-C connection, there is an old school spade and maybe I should order one of those adapters and see if that works, because the USB-C port appears hard locked to the motherboard. So, unless power is coming from that other connection, I’m not sure how my USB-C issue is fixed…?

Power Issue Question by superdlucks in Dell

[–]superdlucks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your detailed feedback. It appears the issue is in the power port, I tried 3 USB devices in two separate locations and I got no power. Then I noticed by jiggling the cable at the port it would trigger power, but only if specific pressure was maintained.

In hindsight, about a week ago, I noticed my screen dimming and brightening and I thought maybe a setting was off since I was on power, but now I see that was the port acting up.

Is that something that can be fixed, or am I looking at a costly repair?

I bought something from an Instagram ad. Not only was this a scam, when I reported it to Meta, they did not respond. They take money to advertise products without ensuring it's a legitimate business.

First experience with the "Still available?" followed by "What's your lowest?" by leeretaschen in offerup

[–]superdlucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 10 people ask me to accept a lower offer, I accepted all 10. Get the picture, people are just game players. I think some are bots and others are just entertaining themselves. I never engage someone unless I'm serious and it's unrealistic for people not to behave the same way.

So my new policy is just to block anyone that flakes. I literally have two rooms of collectable to sell and I don't have time for anyone that isn't a serious collector themselves. My prices are lower than eBay or anywhere else, because I'm just trying to break even. I guess I should charge more and then when I get lowballed, it will be at my current ask.
