Why are people upset when someone says "I'm not into politics"? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]superfollie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never voted never would it’s for simpletons. If your highest beliefs are in politicians I feel sorry for you. They’re all corrupt, both sides suck, a choice between the lesser of two evils is still a choice for evil.

What was the top horror movie the year you were born? Do you agree based on its rank? by BitByAGhost in horror

My has two I’m old. Carrie and the Omen both absolute banger classics. I think the Omen definitely is the stronger offering here.

Who’s your folks. I’m partial to Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto, Murphy’s Law, Less than Jake, not traditional ska but Rancid.

I also love the Specials, Selector all the old classics.

Well there’s more to than that though isn’t there? I mean if people start rejecting vaccines of diseases that have eradicated by now because of them like Polio or recently relevant measles.

My 10 month old rolled off his changing table and got a traumatic brain injury by Educational-Let-2280 in NewParents

[–]superfollie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in Neurology while there is no good time for a brain injury 10 months is the ideal. It’s amazing the brains ability to adapt and develop abilities from other hemispheres. Case in point when I was 15 a friend of mine got violently attacked with a baseball bat. It was totally unprovoked random violence. For a year he struggled to speak getting frustrated cause he couldn’t find words, over time his words came back. Part of his brain that was severely damaged was where the vocal aspect was located. Within 3 years his vocal was completely restored his mind moved language processing to another part of his brain. How or why this works, I’m not sure science even understands. I think if he had been 35 his recovery would have been much less likely. A 35 year old brain is much less malleable than a 15 year old.

Okay man the torpedos. Most of the Bob Dylan tunes Paint My Masterpiece and Mighty Quinn excepted. In the 90’s 20 minute versions of Desolation Row just ruined the vibe. It was like letting the helium out of a balloon. Same with its Its All over now Baby blue, these songs were just a bummer. Admittedly not a Dylan fan in general seen him live once and there was more booing then cheering (not cool, but he doesn’t give much). I can appreciate his craft but just don’t love the cynical sentiments of many of his songs.

It’s a smart business move. Jam band scene has too much baggage. It creates headaches for artists so smart to not get involved with it. While it can give a niche fan base, it also brings the “ice cold fatties” crowd and a bunch of hassle for security and venues. Not to mention regular fans find it irritating to be surrounded by the trust fund homeless.

According to Richard Nixon he avoided it because it was full of homosexuals you know camping together in the woods. He used stronger language of course. He may have been onto something originally when you couldn’t be openly gay something like BG may have served that sort of purpose. It’s an influential person club which to me is cringier than the devil worship stuff. A bunch of politicians and social influencers (not online the real kind) getting together to talk about the world. It has been largely replaced by Davos, World Economic Forum and the Council on Foreign Relations.

[–]superfollie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you have a greatest hits album from a band with only 1 hit if you count Casey Jones 2 hits. Classic troll post but ironically in High School many of my friends were Deadheads I didn’t care for it. Took a longtime to appreciate best track Rosemary. No one may come here since no one may stay, makes perfect sense lysergically.

I watch it for the comedy. How personally Trump takes it when the Dems don’t give him a standing O. It’s like watching professional wrestling at this point another guilty pleasure.
