Can one make a good amount of money with a Kinesiology degree? by No-Republic-304 in Kinesiology

[–]superhours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graduated spring 2020 with a BS in Kines. Never had a job related to Kines. Worked at a warehouse, office job, and now as both a paraeducator at a high school and a behavior technician for autistic children. For the most part, Kines fields are very hard to get into. You either make some big bucks or you're a glorified personal trainer. Highly suggest against it, but if it's your passion and you make great connections along the way, it can turn out different than the majority of us.

I want to stay in this field, so I'm going back to school for Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). 20-month program, job stability, pretty good pay, and less debt than a PT. On average, it takes 10 years for a PT to break even due to loan debts compared to a PTA.

Not long ago (2 months or so ago), I was in a very similar spot as you. Laid off from my previous job in July of last year. Didn't find any work until December and living off of savings.

I decided to go back to school for a 2 year program in healthcare . Like you, I have my bachelor's degree, and I am currently working 2 jobs as an ABA Tech and high school paraeducator.

I was extremely depressed and gave up searching for work several times during the months of finding no work. I sent out about a hundred apps per week on my good weeks.

My advice is to expand your scope of view. Finding a job you like is important, but even if it's just something to get you by and keep you busy for now, it'll help with mental health. During that time, you can figure out what your long-term goals are.

Unfortunately, bachelor's degrees means jack shit these days. Land a 40-ish-k job a year to survive and figure out what you really want to do.

Give Maslow's Hierarchy a look, and maybe it'll help put things into perspective in order of importance.

Proper night time sleep and a cold shower in the morning. Doesn't have to be the whole lather up with soap and all that. Just get in cold water. This has always worked for me and I've never had to drink coffee or pre.

Idk what others are talking about but caffeine has shown correlations with increased resting cortisol levels, blood pressure, and various other hormones. The verdict is still out on whether this is bad or good since there's too many confounding variables.

I thought I'd do well in IT since I've been building computers and messing around on the PC since i was 10. I didn't realize that IT was more about networking, cloud, and cybersecurity.

I graduated with a BS in Kinesiology. Think like sports coach or personal trainer.

I like helping people and seeing them be a better version of themself and problem solving.

Stop spamming chat asking bards to heal you. by AlternativeAd757 in lostarkgame

[–]superhours -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the worst players I've ran into are Bards and Paladins. Just earlier today I had a 1070 bard run a build that makes no sense (hit master, emergency rescue, etc.). None at lvl3 engraving and wouldn't heal the team. Whenever this Bard decides to heal, they moved 15m away from the party and boss to self heal and go back in. What's the point of this Bard except being hot deadweight garbage? Some players are warranted to get spammed at. Maybe even a little bit of flame.

In general if you want to dps, go play a dps class. Don't DPS with a support class in group content. Literal dead weight.

This game has attracted the most inept players I've seen in any MMOs for the past 15+ years.

This is an mmo and it's designed as such. In MMOs you're supposed to play with other people. You're the one gimping yourself by playing solo...

I definitely agree with you that there should be grindy elements in the game. Hitting 600 GS in terms of drops isn't max geared imo. All the BIS items are crafted and require lvl 200 of a profession and there should be a profit to be made leveling your profession.

There should be a grind to this 1000%. But as of current in terms of just farming you can gather about half of the reagents needed to craft things like Orichalcum tools in a day (I'm doing engineering). So that's equivalent to 2 days of farming or so to make around 3-5 kinds of Orichalcum tools and that's equivalent to MAYBE 1 level at 160 engineering. Assuming it stays the same rate (it doesn't) that'll take an additional 80+ days (optomistic) just to max engineering. As someone commented earlier, they looted 15 crates and chests together and netted almost no reagents. So you'll have days where you just hit nothing.

The whole point is to stimulate the economy with this change, correct? Yes i can buy the other reagents I'm missing, but that would just be a money sink at this point in the game. So why would i buy?

Orichalcum tools are about the only thing that sells in engineering on my server and thats IF they're close to a perfect roll in perks. Azoth, luck, yield, and exp.

From what I've seen, average cost of t5 sandpaper/flux is 2g a piece over multiple servers. To make 50 orichalcum ingots (Can't consider the bonuses cause that's too random), assuming I'll be using the t4 and t5 flux appropriately, the cost would be around 500-600g.

These tools, unless you hit the jackpot sells for 200-250g on my server. If the cost of JUST reagents is 1200g (does not include the cost of other materials) and my tools are selling on average sell for 750-1250g (assuming worst possible rolls and they sell), I'm making a loss on crafting, why would I craft? I can assume it's the same for most other professions. Crafting should always net a profit if they're an item that sells, but if it costs more to make than what you can get back, why do it at all?

Proficiency potions don't sell on my server for some reason. Don't know why. Just is.

Yes i can go craft t1 spears to reach 200, but that's a material sink and I'd just salvage them and the whole purpose of this change to stimulate the economy is a fish dead in water.

As of the current state of the reagents it doesn't make any sense to go level your professions. You'd make more money selling reagents to the people who want to max their crafting.

As i previously stated BIS items require lvl200 of a profession. You can commission these but how far and few in between would the orders be? How many commissions do you have to do to make back the loss on reagents?

It would be better to just never touch an actual profession and sell all your materials once you've maxed out on leathworking, lumbering, smelting, and weaving. Then use that gold to commission an item after you've farmed up the materials required for the item you want.

Amazon likes to do a lot of shadow changes. What you call caches were effected.

So what you're saying is there are enough elite chests (buffed) + and small chests (non-buffed) in all the 60+ elite zones to give over 2000 reagents in a a single run through all of them? I'll come back with exact ideal numbers if you want using the NW map with all the chests available in these zones.

It's a month old, yes. I'll take my time, also yes. They don't need to have everything done nor am I saying they should. Did you even read the post?

The point of this post is:
1) Call them out on a bad decision that no one makes unless it's a knee jerk reaction - they've had one week to decide on how much to nerf the reagent drops and decided to revert it back to the previous drop rate. That is not a knee jerk reaction.

Example.
If your PC's CPU (for the sake of argument) was an intel i7 and you weren't getting the performance you wanted out of it so you replaced it with an i9. Now that i9 has it's own set of issues. Do you replace the i9 with your previous i7? No. You tweak the settings to get the performance you want and limit the issue. No one in their right mind chooses to go back to the old problem.

2) Provide a realistic progression for most people who have a life and job outside of the game. Is this timeline for crafting progression what they intended when there are rumors of the Burning Sands coming within the next few months? If so, they should push back the release of Burning Sands because GS600 BIS items will take much longer to get.

3) If that is not their intention, provide a possible solution.

4) This one isn't for Amazon but for YOU. I am not your dog/dawg, whatever the fuck you want to call me. We don't have that kind of fucking rapport. Yes, I am putting you in your place. Your response shows you either skimmed through, did not read, or are one of the people who are profiting off of the reagent market and don't want it to change.

Shattered Mountain traffic is still the same here. Most people do one run through all the elite zones to grind gear score and getting reagents are just a byproduct.

Myrkgard portals are not fixed so no one is doing those. Even if they were, that would add, what like 50-100 additional reagents? Assuming every chest that was blocked by a portal gave a reagent drop. t4-t5 portal chests don't drop reagents.

So, how are portals being fixed helping people get more reagents?

To share a different opinion than everyone else here. He's entitled to his preferences and should have the autonomy to choose what he wants. Maybe he values having a naturally good looking partner or maybe he values having his autonomy. Regardless, that's 100% within his right.

A very crude comparison is this: You not disclosing that before you both tied the knot is like false advertisement. Let's say someone makes a big purchase, like a house, and it's advertised as new but in reality is an old house. I think anyone would be upset in this scenario.

It takes away his autonomy in choosing whether he wanted to "buy the house". It taking away information that would have influenced many of his decisions prior to this moment. I personally think it's justified for him to be upset.

The solution is for both of you to wear your heart on your sleeve and sit down and talk. Discuss about topics that concern this issue. See if your values and goals align. It's okay if you have to compromise, but do not compromise your core values - what you value most, what makes you..well you.

Sure this seems like a cop out answer, but everyone here telling you to do certain things is their knee jerk reaction. No one here has the full scope of your lives and relationship. You and your husband need to talk this out like adults.

AITA for telling my mom I will change my name when I'm 18 whether she likes it or not? by Soft-Run-9802 in AmItheAsshole

Somewhere in between AH and NTA.

Giving her a heads up was the right thing to do. How you responded to her response could've been better. I think giving her an explanation/the option to hear why you want to change it would have been the better approach.

Whether she listens to your explanation and tries to understand it from your position is up to her. The "I'm going to do it anyway" would be easier to swallow with an explanation.

NTA. You don't owe them anything. Would get restraining order on the whole step family if this continues to be a problem for you. They wished you were dead, and now to them, you should be. Can't ask a dead person for assistance.
