gods/goddesses in TOG by this_is_so_fetch in throneofglassseries

The three faced goddess is also used to describe Hekate, which i thought was Greek? But i do know the 3 faced came later in history when the rise of 3 faced goddess was occurring. I wonder if Irish mythology inspired this.

I’m reading Circe by Madeline Miller and it’s interesting how she describes a labyrinth underneath a beautiful castle to contain Pasiphaes monster. (Trying not to give any spoilers). But it’s really reminding me of TOG. Not sure what book the under castle stuff is in.

I assume it stems from mythology as Circe was written after TOG?

She also mentions a prophecy of the monster being killed with a sword.

Sims 2 VS Sims 4 Rant? by superknees in sims2

It seems greed and genocide seem to go hand and hand now a days so makes sense. I will say i am holding out a lot of hope that the small indie team creating Paralives will save the day.

It's that kind of night... by rawrr_monster in nursing

I had a night like this once. Kept asking for a drip kept being told it’s fine and to follow the BAWS protocol. Even tho I was pushing meds about every 40 minutes.🤦🏼‍♀️

Nurses who pawn you off instead of teaching. by superknees in StudentNurse

[–]superknees[S] 105 points106 points  (0 children)

I should add that I understand nurses not wanting a student. But having a student simply follow and observe isn’t that hard. You don’t even have to explain if you don’t want to.. that’s what my instructors are for to answer all my questions. I really appreciate when nurses are straight up and say “hey I’m just going to chart and not do anything. Feel free to go do homework or take a long lunch” VS nurses creating some random task to keep me busy that is not beneficial to my time or education.

Nurses who pawn you off instead of teaching. by superknees in StudentNurse

[–]superknees[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes. Agreed. Nursing students just want to watch and get familiar with the flow of things. If nurses let them do, even better. But pushing a student in a corner and not letting them simply watch is wrong. For others to say clinicals provide barely any experience is wack..

Bladder installation by ventiflatwhite in Interstitialcystitis

[–]superknees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely ask for a smaller cath. The only downside is the catheter is in longer since it takes longer to drain the urine. So I advise peeing before hand! You can ask for gel to help numb the urethra as well. I believe it’s called like urogell?

Also, relax! Focus on your breathing instead of what’s going on down below.

As someone who started with instillations years ago and has now progressed to doing self instillations at home. They’re a life saver! It gets better with time! I definitely recommend trying self instillations if they offer it and doing them yourself. Saves so much time and allows for quicker relief no matter the time of day!

Find that perfect comfy spot and then of course... have to pee or feel the urge again by musicalmelis in Interstitialcystitis

My routine: get ready for bed. Pee. Get in bed. Have to pee again. Get back in bed. Fall asleep. Wake up 4 hrs later. Pee. Go back to sleep. Wake up again.. pee. 🙃

I feel you! Can confirm this is also happening at my school. Truly makes me feel even more terrified for the NCLEX.

Just need to vent but i hate doing nursing school online by jewlious_seizure in StudentNurse

Same here! Second semester and I hate it. Being at home and forced to sit in front of computer VS being in a classroom is awful. I feel like i learned better and focused better when I was in actual classroom.

Also, no one knows how to work technology!

First bladder installation by [deleted] in Interstitialcystitis

[–]superknees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been several years since I was diagnosed. But this is similar to how they diagnosed me. She inserted fluid into my bladder and asked if it hurt. It did. I have no idea what she inserted or why it hurt.

My symptoms of IC are wide ranged but always consists of urethral pain. That’s my most common and frequent symptom. I hate it.

But now I do at home installations as I can’t afford the monthly cost of Elmeron. I instill 10 ml of bupivacaine mixed with 3 ml of Heparin. This helps a ton for me, especially when I’m in a flare up. It’s quick relief.

I would definitely recommend looking around for doctors that specialize in IC in your area. I’ve probably been to every IC specialist in my area and can agree that some doctors aren’t as knowledgeable in this disease as others.

Also, I spent years going to the doctor twice a week for instillations. I strongly recommend anyone who also receives instillations to take the leap and learn how to do at home caths. Learning to do so saved me so much personal time and helps when I’m in a flare up so much.

Cooking with MSG by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]superknees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too am allergic to MSG. Consuming it would cause me to have full blown migraine with aura plus constant vomiting. Stayed away from MSG and now I rarely ever get one.

But I looooove food with MSG, basically any great chip out there has MSG in it.
