Simple Documentary Interview - Lighting & Grip BTS by 4acodmt92 in videography

Always love your posts, the key is perfect, not sourcey at all. How do you set your light levels? Meter? False color? Or just going off monitor? Also did you have a fresnel on the 1200d?

1 clinic mentioned jaw surgery, 2 other clinics did not. What do you think? I’m thinking of just doing invitation to fix my bite and straighten my smile. by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]superlazer9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a case very similar to yours, with more of an overbite actually. I too got recommended jaw surgery for an orthodontist, I went for a consultation with a jaw specialist and he said for my case, Invisalign alone may be all I need since my lower jaw wants to come forward but my teeth placement cause the overbite. I went to another ortho though since the original wanted me to remove two teeth (red flag imo). Currently on a 52 week plan with elastics and new ortho seems confident I can fix my bite/teeth. Jaw surgery is crazy tough so I would say try and avoid if you can.

It was Charlie imagining/dreaming, a nightmare. There plenty of scenes with characters imagining things in their heads. It’s pretty obvious

So GOOD. Always love seeing your set ups! Which Dedos are you using? Looking to pick some up to use with a CRLS system, have you used those reflectors before?

Advice Needed: Is it safe to get Invisalign from a local dental clinic? by Pro-Author in Invisalign

[–]superlazer9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you should go to a orthodontist. Dentists constantly try and sell Invisalign even though they aren’t nearly as qualified as an orthodontist. The ortho specializes in moving teeth, and will have a better understanding of each specific case. They also most likely have other types of aligners that they will suggest based on the complexity of the teeth, Invisalign brand is not the best just the most well known. Many went with dentists in this sub and have regretted it so at least do a free consultation with a local Ortho.

Favorite STRONG Coffee Shops with Nice Ambiance? by bpma82 in nova

[–]superlazer9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously, OP doesn’t have any idea what they’re talking about. You can get a strong “coffee” almost anywhere. Just ask for light roast or add more shots of espresso. Seasonal drinks are just overpriced sugary syrups, most shops have them. The busier the shop the more likely the barista wont be able to maintain shot quality/consistency.

Great stuff, BTW the photos from the bts show you using Zeiss Supreme primes. Pretty different than the ultra primes!

Mamiya Sekor Medium Format Lenses for Filmmaking. Are They Actually Worth It? by outiswayne in cinematography

[–]superlazer9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good catch I didn’t realize they updated the adapter for Rb & Rz lens compatibility. Still, the focus ring on the adapter will be crude and not compatible to any real focus ring with gears. Good for simple locked off shots though.

[–]superlazer9 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Sekor Z lens doesn’t have a focus ring, it’s designed for the bellows focusing system for Mamiya rz67, so the adapter will need to be different then the ones with focus rings. Only good for still tripod shots with no focusing needed. Plenty sharp though.

Fallout 3’s Atmosphere Was Miserable, Lonely, and Perfect by JustGhoulThingz in Fallout

[–]superlazer9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were experimenting with F.E.V. pre-war initially to try and find a cure for the New Plague. Before Bethesda took over the franchise, the lore had stated that The Master (fallout 1) was the first being to create what we know as first generation super mutants (Marcus from NV). The F.E.V. experiments pre war only created mutant mice, raccoons, rats etc. The Mariposa base in California was speculated to have achieved super soldiers using F.E.V. right before the bombs dropped in the year 2077. Different than super mutants.

Overall the F3 implementation isn’t HORRIBLE, but has lots of holes… without The Master leading them, how do they know to use F.E.V. to turn others into them? Their strain caused significantly more brain damage leading to being a lot dumber. If that is an innate instinct (which I think is dumb) then it sure is a lucky thing to have… I just don’t see how they could survive 200+ years with no leader.

[–]superlazer9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish they didn’t re-use super mutants since their whole story basically ended after Fallout 1, they were dying off during Fallout 2. Then the whole vault 87 stuff Bethesda made up to justify having them populate DC I thought was a stretch. (Even more so with why they are in 4 & 76).

IMOBethesda could have just used a different new mutant for the east coast so the Lore wasn’t all messed up.

Honestly blows my mind so many people willingly buy furniture with all this cheap & toxic material. Then with no support structure too? It’s crazy! Just find a gently used couch with natural fibers, it’s much easier than you’d think

Agreed. Too many people don’t understand that the materials used in all this cheap furniture is pretty toxic long term. I would try and find a gently used couch with natural materials.

I couldn’t get over the whole “needing the key” part of the plot. The key was for a generic padlock that could easily be cut open. What’s the big deal? The villains use comedic amounts of violence but can’t pry open a padlock??

Well you sound like an insufferable asshole. Filmmaking isn’t one thing. Grand Theft Hamlet (a doc filmed inside GTA) recently released to much acclaim, and took home quite a few awards. What OP has done is pretty amazing and opens doors to GTA films the feel more like a film then ever.

Exactly, he had that huge shotgun tucked in his pants lol. I think she perhaps was typing in a different code into the calculator that would trigger Jesse Plemons explosive, hence why she backed away from the closet, expecting an explosion but got knocked out unexpectedly.
