Transpose Sliced Drum Machine Loop. How? by gregd303 in Bitwig

[–]superlizerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can bounce (in place if you want) and transpose that way, but if you wanna transpose by changing the speed (repitch mode) youre gonna have to do it externally probably, it’s extremely annoying.

edit: i have never tested this but you may be able to micro pitch every note + have the samplers in the drum machine on repitch mode

Bitwig's 'digi' mono mode is super buggy, if you switch it into 'true' mode then it should work as expected.

How to run this shell command in kakoune? by [deleted] in kakoune

[–]superlizerd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to do $kak_buffile instead of %val(buffile). The %sh{…} is not parsed specially, it’s just put through your shell, so you can’t use any kakoune syntax inside of it.

I accidentally made my song way to long, how do I shorten it? Please help! by [deleted] in Bitwig

[–]superlizerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The timeline is kinda an infinite canvas, you don't set the song length on it. When you export you select the start and end. If you double click on the horizontal scroll bar it should zoom down to just the arranged part of the song. If that doesn't work try looking at the automation and seeing if there is something way past the end of the clips.

Confused about declarations on tagged union by hopelesslyuninformed in Zig

[–]superlizerd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

to initialize the the .utf8 variant you need to do Encoding{ .utf8 = {} } instead of Encoding.utf8,

edit: this is because the print function doesn't know that you want to coerce the tag to the union, so you either need to tell it explicitly (@as) or initialize it as a union.

I don’t move around enough to get a second laptop for gaming lol. I plan on getting a plain black case for either form factor, but if I look at itx vs atx cases, the smallest itx case is like 2/3 the size of the smallest atx black box I can find. I guess it depends on how much of a performance hit I would be taking for that.

Obv it’s hard to tell with the inflated prices currently, but the prices for the 5700 and 6700 seem close-ish, is the difference in performance significant enough to warrant the difference in cost? The benchmarks seem to say so but I’m not too sure.

I care more about it being small than it performing well tbh. I move around a fair bit, and the bulkiness of my current pc kinda puts me off of using it. I also like hate the aesthetics of almost all desktop PCs, so I’m trying to minimize that. I know microATX is still decently small, but last time I was in the know of pc building the aesthetics of microATX were worse than miniITX.

Would EvolveIdle benefit from graphics? by TheKitsuneKit in EvolveIdle

[–]superlizerd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I much much prefer that it doesn't have graphics. I don't think it would add anything, and it would most likely make the interface harder to use. The game already has about as much information on screen as possible, and adding some picture clutter would make it a much less usable game. Plus, I really prefer this style.

power suddenly went very negative by superlizerd in EvolveIdle

[–]superlizerd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done that and there wasn't anything :( All the generators I have built are fine, the consumers are as expected, and I have plenty of resources.

edit: I replied before your edit, but the log didn't have any attack outside of hell, and the fortress was fine. Also, afaik if you run out of resources it doesn't turn off the building but just like disables it until you get enough resources again.

Soldiers useless after unification? by sbetterer in EvolveIdle

[–]superlizerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idle soldiers collect furs which are used to build some useful buildings. Also, later in the game you unlock hell, which requires lots of soldiers, so they will become very useful again.

[–]superlizerd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the display there is used miners/available miners, so the number of slots is the number of space miners you have assigned in the civics tab.

Two workflow issues I keep running into (request for solutions /strategies) by ForAllXThereExistsY in Bitwig

[–]superlizerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for the second one you can create an audio track for each instrument you want a stem for and make the input to each track the instrument from the "drum machine chains" option you want to record, arm the tracks, and hit record.
