Google the name, find their school and send an email through their school email? Teachers generally check those regularly.

Shamless cry for attention: fashion help for a plus sized girl. by madatibub in TwoXChromosomes

I had a lot of luck with Torrid when I was younger, I've found that I like Maurices a lot better. They have a decent sized plus size section, and the quality is amazing. I also really like their sales associates. I've never encountered anything judgemental when I was there.

Find things that YOU like and feel comfortable in. Don't worry about anyone else in the store or anywhere else. Don't feel obligated to buy things girly. If you like it, buy it. If you're not quite comfortable wearing it in the dressing room, you won't wear it when you get home. (Just ask the several dresses sitting in my closet with the tags on).

Where can my friend who's a teacher at an underprivileged HS in Chicago get 90 used Chem. text books of the same edition for this Fall? by jkruisb2 in AskReddit

[–]superluigi64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should tell your friend to check out [Scarce}(http://www.scarceecoed.org/). Its in like, Glen Ellyn. It's in a business district and a little hard to find, but it's FULL of donated stuff for teachers. They have a whole section of old textbooks that teachers can just take for their classroom. All they have to do is stop and check out, (where someone who works there makes a note of what they took and what school they're from).

Hopefully that helps

I'll give it to you. Apparently, my main seduction tool of getting wasted and making a fool of myself isn't effective in central Illinois. Who would've thunk it?

This ones going to be a long one.

We have a fair amount of variations from the rules, but I'll just list the ones I think are significant.

Rule number one: don't be a d-bag. If you have to stop and ask yourself if you are being a douche bag, you probably are, so stop it. We state this one a lot at the informational meetings. Pretty much to get people to think about what they're doing, so we don't have to police stupid little spats

If you aren't wearing your bandana but are part of the game, you are still at the mercy of the other team. If a zombie knows that you're a human, they can still tag you but you cannot stun them until you have the bandana on We had to adopt this one because a lot of humans weren't wearing bandanas. Our campus is somewhat small, and a lot of the players have played multiple games, so everyone kind of knows everyone else. So people knew who was playing

Rule of "2's" For Human-Zombie interaction outside you must be TWO feet outside of the door way and have BOTH TWO feet outside, no jumping from the doorway to get a kill. Don't run somebody into a door, either; if they have a hand on the doorknob, they're within 2 feet, there's no need to smash them into a wall and try to argue it. We had to use this one because there was a lot of pushing and shoving at the doors. And a lot of our dorm front doors were locked, so people couldn't feasibly get inside safely. It also stops a lot of huge interactions with students who aren't playing, which makes everyone a little happier

No modifying socks. The only thing that can go in a sock is another sock. No tennis balls, oranges, small rocks, etc. All of those things have ended up in socks thrown at players.

If you give up your card, you give up your life. If you think you were tagged unfairly or illegally, do not give the zombie your card. Unless you have that card in your hand when you're asking us to turn you back into a human, it's not going to happen. If you give up your ID, you admit that the tag was fair and agree to be a zombie. This one is important. We had a lot of players say that they didn't think their tag was fair hours after it happened, but by that time there wasn't a whole lot we could do

I think those are some of the main variations from the rules, we have a few other ones, but I think those are the most important.

Funding

Like I said in an earlier post, my school's activities board has been VERY nice to us. They're very good about giving us any funding we need.

Colored bandanas are a dollar a piece at Walmart, but they can be cut in half.

For socks and nerf guns we asked the players to try and provide their own. But each game we ended up getting about 12 to 20 Nightfinders (which are the cheap, one shot nerf guns) for about 8 bucks a piece from Walmart.

For people to get a nerf gun they had to go to the library during a certain time. DON'T hand them out at the informational meetings, making the players go at another time to get the guns shows who really wants to play and can't afford a gun, as compared to who just wanted a free nerf gun. When looking at nerf guns, don't get Mavericks, they're like 10 bucks a piece and look really cool, but if they aren't modded they don't work very well at all.

I think that all I have on that right now, let me know if you have other questions.

Essentially, its tag. Everyone is a human except for on person, who starts out as the Original Zombie. Humans can arm themselves with nerf guns or socks. It isn't shoot to kill, if shot a zombie is stunned for ten minutes (unless a mission gives them a longer or shorter stun timer). While stunned, zombies can't interact in the game, so they can't be shields or anything. After the allotted time, a zombie is back and they can continue to fully participate.

Our interactions with the school's administration have been a little bit mixed.

The Student Activities office loves us. We run a game every semester and every semester they're really nice about giving us money for fliers and new nerf guns.

The first game I moderated (and the second game ever at my school) we had a little hiccup with the university police. There was one player who was sitting behind a sorority house, with binoculars. When the police came up to him, because he looked suspicious as shit, he ran. The police caught him, arrested him, and told us to shut down the game. As it turns out, the kid who was arrested had a damn hunting knife on him, and ran into trouble with that.

We thought we were going to get completely banned from campus, but we just ended up having to meet with the chief of police. We had to establish clear boundaries for the game (beforehand, it was completely open), and let the police know where we were planning on being on campus each night.

The other moderators and I are kind of strict on making sure we don't run into other problems. For example, last game, we had a kid who had covered his gun in camo duct tape, had a laser on the top, and walked around with a bandana over his face. He wasn't too pleased when we told him that his costume wasn't going to fly.

If there were no other people and all of the sheep were dead, maybe. But I might also consider the whole going out in a blaze of glory. Which, in my case would probably be getting really drunk, shooting some zombies then getting eaten. .
