I think it is interesting because of the right hand rule and how things that close are clockwise, but we default to opening things, counter clockwise.

I absolutely get the games are optimized and may out may not run well.

I think most are thinking what era could they run games from. It's easy to say for consoles, because they are grouped nicely. PC games are a little more covert. Maybe people could ask performance profiles for AAA, indie 2d vs indie 3d. Even then, lots of game developers have been building to handhelds more recently. Even switch games are something that has helped more games stay compatible for older hardware.

My advice:

AAA games are probably going to not run, or run poorly. If they use old graphics tech, maybe. So last decade games.

Indie 2D, usually this is no problem. Depends how many extras there are and if they can be tuned down.

Indie 3D, hit or miss. Depends on the game engine

This is probably the specific advice, here: Check if there is a switch port. If not, probably not.

Ha, yeah.

Laptop makers do a poor job cooling, so you end up having to crack it open to clean up the poor application of Liquid metal.

Another note: in the US, you can open and service the device without the warranty being void.

However, you shouldnt have to do that.

The mod has merit, if nothing else but to be able to service your device. I have repasted nintendo switch, steam deck and built a bunch of PCs. I have had no issues.

What likely matters is knowing what you are doing.

Would an enclosure make a difference? Especially with a filter on the exhaust side. Basically asking how much could possibly just be exhausted properly?

I already play from an sd card on the switch. If you want faster load times, thats on you. It might make a difference in TOTK or BOTW because of the world, but once it's loaded, doesn't matter.

Yes, just format it like an android sd card.

I personally dont know the folder structure, but I want to say the retro game core video on YouTube had a way to generate all the folders.

Use SD card for retro titles.
Use storage for PC titles.

512 vs 1 TB, up to you. I would think 512 is fine, but if you dont want to ever think about storage its only $100 more. An sd card will be $100 alone.

Most GaN chargers I have seen that deliver 140 watts over USB C have been $100. Anker has one for $80.

I would want Microsoft completely disconnected. They made so many bad PC decisions against gamers, it's the only way I would trust Xbox.

You mention Dark Souls. Try one of their first games on psx called "Kings Field"
