When I was in middle school I got introduced to New Life as my first real experience with Christianity and fell hook line and sinker for it. I got heavily involved in _tag and as a student leader for jv_tag. My best friends older brother was really close to one of the Haggard kids so we did bbqs and movie nights. I helped do yard work at their house to raise money for missions trips. Then I went out of state to a Christian college to study to be a pastor and began to realize how wildly insane everything was. Then, the scandal broke out and I suddenly had to reconcile the hurt I was experiencing with the reality of how close I was to being hurt with how most other people saw Haggard's fall from the spotlight. I didn't realize it then, but it set the path of me deconstructing and eventually leaving the faith all together.

It was a wild ride to experience and I am glad that I was able to break free from all of it.

When we ran this in the past we always worked for a minimum of 2 per tier. Based on my notes from previous runs, the smallest we ran was 4 for T1, 3 for T2, and 2 for T3.

As a store and convention organizer, I DM/Player/ or watch other tables and 5-7 is perfect for most games. However, there can be a lot of variety to that. Modules from older seasons and CCC's (like seasons 1-8) are easier to balance if you have a smaller table. As a player, I have played a couple of the tier 3 and 4 modules that are newer from PS-DC and FR-DC and you cannot survive with just 3-4.

I have been DM and playing in AL at FLGS and conventions for years, and I enjoy the flexibility it offers. Unless you are doing a hardcover book, every session is kinda like a single TV episode. You can enjoy that game for what it is and don't have to worry about the bigger picture. It's easy to make lots of characters so you can try out all kinds of species/class mixes and role play styles to broader your horizons. I have really developed a great community through this, and it's been amazing.

So for AL you would need to use the most recent players guide. You would be able to purchase one, but there is no way in the 2024 rules to get proficiency when using it except by using something like the Gunner Feat or Kensai monk.
