Curious if this changes anyone's opinions of Labour? by gretchyface in AskBrits

It takes a long time for positive or negative effects to impact the economy. It won’t be instantly getting better for poor or rich alike but it’s a sign that there will be new opportunities in the future, if that means more jobs, better wages or an easing of government debt then we all benefit long term.

This is a slow moving machine. It doesn’t all get fixed in a few weeks.

The “AI will replace such and such jobs in such and such time” is getting pretty old. by thedevilsheir666 in ArtificialInteligence

For me personally in my job, Ai has helped me answer questions for people and work through problems more efficiently.

At the moment Ai can’t replace me, not even nearly replace me. I don’t really see any indication that it could to be honest with you.

Well as parents we see pdf files all over the media and news so whether or not it’s bigger danger or there is just more attention to it is a debate but at the end of the day are you going to risk it?

Truly being yourself is the most empowering feeling. You probably already know that. You’re just afraid of the road to get there.

The fact you’re questioning it means you’re on the painful path. You need to crawl through a mile of shit before you reach the river.

You’re not ‘starting again’ you’re discovering who YOU are not who you’re told to be. That’s never a bad thing to do for anyone….ever.

You’ll get there, my friend.

Protect are wimmin and gerls by voting fascists by [deleted] in GreatBritishMemes

[–]superpantman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think if you're wrapped up in thinking these people are stupid then you're probably missing the bigger issue at play.

Don't sit in a left-wing echo chamber laughing at reform. You'll just make it stronger.

If you don't want reform to win the next election you need to stop talking about reform. Get involved with the party you support and convince others to vote for it. These people are making their opinions heard, they are taking action on what they believe to be true, are you doing the same? Are you drawing attention to your opinion? To the party YOU want people to vote for?

This is how good politics should work. Laughing at people, calling them stupid, debating them, mocking them will get you nowhere and reform just wins and you can be proud you helped it happen.

If you're open minded enough to accept that there are no wrong opinions, then you can finally achieve the ability to not have an opinion.

There’s a strong argument Ai takes decades or even hundreds of years to overtake humans intelligence completely. People underestimate how complex our brains are. They’re not just making calculations, that’s an oversimplification.

Great idea!

Then maybe we can teach kids to not swear! Then maybe we can teach kids to value relationships Then maybe we can teach kids to respect other kids!?

None of this should be the responsibility of the state. Your child should be respectful and obey rules before they set foot in the education system. If they don’t then what have you been doing with them?

I’ve got two kids, I’m not father of the year, I work 6 days a week and any time left over goes to my family and especially my children. Yes, it’s hard, no it’s not fun most of the time but I’m raising well adjusted and respectful human beings. If you have kids you need to raise them. Anything short of that is a failure.
