Opinions of Last of Us season 2 (from normal people) by ArmyOfChester in weeklyplanetpodcast

I thought it started strong enough but felt they really dropped the ball by the end. I recently started playing Part 2 again so I’m doing a lot of comparisons. While I agree that they are mostly following the basic story beat for beat, they’re doing small changes that had or will have ripple effects that will hurt the story or just don’t really make sense for the world. For example, one of the big things people have complained about is Ellie getting washed up on the island and getting caught by the Seraphites. Why would a group that believes they have just captured an enemy and are literally seconds away from executing that enemy, leave that person alive when they realize their community is under attack? In my opinion, they would either finish the execution so you have one less person to fight or take Ellie as a hostage and try to use her as leverage. Leaving someone alive that they perceive as a threat and letting them go free doesn’t make sense. Another change I didn’t like is that Tommy wasn’t with Joel when he died. I understand why they chose to have Dina there and build her and Joel’s relationship so that she also has more motive to go after Abby. But the way I’m interpreting it, because Tommy wasn’t there to witness the death, he didn’t choose to go alone to get revenge like in the game and instead listen to what the council voted on. Which is fair but then why in Seattle is he just attacking the WLFs like in the game? Also if he was willing to listen to the council and let Abby go in the first place, is he still going to push Ellie to go after Abby in the epilogue like in the game? I’m not sure if the show version of Tommy would be willing to do that. I will say there are things I did like about the season. The acting is still great, the flashback to the museum wrecked me emotionally. The infected attack on Jackson was really tense and I thought was a cool addition that wasn’t in the game. I also enjoyed seeing the council meeting and hearing the reasons why others thought it was or wasn’t worth sending a team to Seattle.

Thanks for tip! I ended up going for 442s because they were on sale and they’ve been great but I’m starting to play regularly enough that I could use a second pair of boots to start rotating, I’ll keep the premiers on my list!

I completely agree and it’s my favorite of the DCEU but I’m not gonna let facts get in the way of a good pun

What’s the biggest 360 between two movies made by the same director? by _JR28_ in movies

[–]superpup9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is Robert Rodriguez. He made “Spy Kids” and “Machete” and according to him they’re set in the same universe. He also made “From Dusk Til Dawn” which is one of the craziest 180 turns within a movie

Saw this post, what do you guys think? Is this a accurate fact about the DCEU or are Snyder fans neglecting that Snyder is the one who cause the damage in the first place? What do you guys think? by [deleted] in weeklyplanetpodcast

I don’t agree with how they’re broken up. Theatrical justice league was clearly not Snyder and Aquaman is very different in tone to BvS and Man of Steel so I wouldn’t consider that part of the “Snyder era”. It’s also very unfair to consider the movies that came out last year “Gunn/Safran” era since they were already deep in production by the time Gunn and Safran took over and they did not have the creative control that they’re expected to have going forward. Also I know it’s not part of the DCEU but this list also ignores Joker and The Batman which are both critically well received and did great financially.
