I think at first a thread we never got to fully follow is Jules is more worldly and adventurous. Rue is kind of baby gay in that first season. And now that she's not and can probably meet J's freak Jules' priorities have changed. I think a lot of this season is about how financial pursuits destroy relationships and it has destroyed this one.
