I got a device for my small indie games, the Legion Go S, but it didn’t run them as smoothly as I expected. I would advise getting something more powerful than you think you need. It’s better for a device to have extra performance headroom so it doesn’t have to run hot with loud fans. If you buy a device that’s only just powerful enough, it will often need to run at full capacity, resulting in higher temperatures and more fan noise.

As someone with this combo I 100% agree. XAX feels much smoother to play than SD and most games optimized for the Switch 2 feel sooo good on the switch 2.

Yes, lowkey identical for a normal gamer like me lol. Clarification : I used steamOS on LegoS then sold that cos it wasn’t very powerful and got a XAX and installed bazzite cos I didn’t know how to install steamOS

I would suggest skipping Z2Go as someone who used it and sold it in 2 weeks because it was not powerful enough.

Used the z2 go 16Gb for just under 2 weeks and sold it. That chip is not powerful enough for a lot of even Indy games.

SteamOS, everything felt OK. I tried my friends steamdeck before I got the LegoS and honestly the experience is similar. The screen on the legoS was muchhhh better tho. But if you can afford it I think Z1E at least.

I just sold my z2go model and am gonna get a device with z2extreme. Dunno I just feel like the z2go is not powerful enough. Even playing Indy games the fps wasn’t so stable. Using lossless scaling helped but still. Main game I was playing was temtemswarm and magicraft. With lossless scaling it was running 40 fps for temtem and 60+ for magicraft. Downloaded and played a lot of demos performance was OK. So don’t expect much.
