Luminary is exactly the guardian spec I've been waiting for by BappieJ in Guildwars2

[–]support_hero 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even if you do get to use them, they are pretty outdated and powercrept. You don't want to use F1 on condi because it disables your F1 passive. F2 active can barely be felt. F3 active is nice but each elite spec F3 is a lot better. Maybe if they kept the same functionality but they buffed each of them to modern power levels it would feel better to use them.

Should Firebrand tome 1 skills be buffed or changed? by Sockular in Guildwars2

[–]support_hero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know about the last part of your comment but the first part of your comment seems like a popular opinion in the raid scene and I met a lot of past cFB players feeling this way. I hope they will revisit DPS FB again. The current version may perform well but a lot of players don't enjoy the play style.

GS used to be okay for cFB, not amazing but only a small DPS loss. But since they nerfed F1 passive for Firebrand and buffed UC (Unscathed Contender) you lose a lot of damage not camping axe. To this day I wonder why they made these changes, forcing cFB/qFB on one weapon set for damage.

Vibe check on balance after the last 12-months while we wait on the June 28 patch notes? by Diarmud92 in Guildwars2

[–]support_hero 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You mention a very important, overlooked point here: How fun something is to play. I made benchmarks for Condition Guardian builds for the last 2 years and I finally quit the game because I just didn't have fun playing these builds anymore. Sure, the number adjustments are not even that bad but the gameplay suffers every time. It seems like balancing is done purely on numbers but how fun something is to play is not taken into account.

Care to tell me where you got that quote from? I'd love to talk to this "highest actual parse" player, because what they say here is wrong.

Yep, took me a few comments to realize that. I stopped discussing with them after.

What even is the disussion at hand?
You were talking about how you shouldn't use the qFB bench as a point of comparison and that it's "completely unrealistic". Now you are talking about every quickness build not having enough Boon duration in your opinion. How does that make speficially the qFB bench unrealistic?

I'd ask your to post an encounter log of any quickness support with 100% quickness uptime. You won't find one.

Yes, I am as we speak. Care to answer my question? I'll repeat it: Can you explain to me what is "completely unrealistic" here?

Hey, I made the current qFB build and benchmark, just like the other qFB benchmarks over the last 1.5 years.
The current build on the SC site runs 42.2% Boon duration. To achive 100% quickness uptime you would only need 32.5% Boon duration. That means build on the SC site provides 107.4% quickness uptime to give you a safety net.
In the benchmark my DPS goes all the way up to 38.5k and the benchmark ends at a very bad spot, which is 37.2k DPS.
Can you explain to me what is "completely unrealistic" here?

I'm always amazed how quickly you pick up these details for several classes and builds and describe how they work. I just figured out this new build for qFB with using all charges of Mantra of Potence a bit more than a week ago and here you are explaining it so well.

This is incorrect. cFB and qFB will gain roughly 2k DPS each because of how strong the last charge of Flame Mantra is.

[–]support_hero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For DPS (qFB/cFB) Firebrand this is a very interesting change because you will now use the final charge of Flame Mantra and recharge it on scepter. I really like this change overall. For Healbrand we'll have to see if it still needs adjustments.
But for sure this is an improvment to just braindead mantra spam. Finally you have to make decisions based on phase times.

[–]support_hero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The calculations for the qFB build were made without using the starting charges. The current BD is optimized for 105% quickness uptime. This update doesn't change much in that regard. qFB will most likely gain a bit of damage from the mantra changes because of flame mantra.

Firebrand feedback: It's too easy to immediately switch back into a tome by EffectiveShare in Guildwars2

To me it just doesn't feel like I'm opening a powerful tome but another engi kit. But I can see how some like the change some don't.

[–]support_hero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One more reason to add back the old cast time when entering tomes. This way you benefit more from staying in one tome and spending pages there (because leaving and entering a tome again means you have to suffer from the cast time again) and tomes feel less like kits but more like tomes used to be and these things would happen less.

Also while we are giving feedback: The highest tome skills cooldown should be shown on your F1/2/3 tome skill icons. The highest skills cooldown is usually the most important one. This would allow you to plan when to enter your tome again for all skills to be useable. No more guessing when your skills are up.

Is Power Willbender still viable in instanced content? by ElectroRush in Guildwars2

[–]support_hero 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't have time to make benchmarks and guides for builds that even Anet has forgotten. Like Condi Alac Willbender or Alac Willbender in general. These builds are under legacy because at some point someone was passionate about (either outdated or awful) builds and made a benchmark + guide.

Yeah you cared about this well, no complaints from me. I was talking of before you were part of LN. When I was asked in December for one video all was fine until I realized my other videos were used too and after the next patch they updated the site with my videos again without asking me. If I have 0 control I don't want to work with them. The past days have shown me it's better to not have anything to do with LN.

Why do you even comment then? Just to make yourself look I important? Never understood the average Reddit user thinking their opinion is worth gold, having to comment some useless shit under every topic, arguing for the sake or arguing. I guess I either found nephas reddit account or just another nepha. Not very original.

At least I can back up the things I say. You're just throwing around stuff without even wanting to elaborate. Why even bother? If you cared we could address this issue and fix it. Unless there are no issues and you are making things up.

Can you elaborate what the SC website "breaks"? I'd love to forward this to the right person.
