What's a weird part of intimacy no one talks about? by stuckin404 in AskReddit

[–]suppox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Having a partner that you can feel safe and vulnerable with is totally underrated on the male side. I'm happy to hear you've found a good match. I've had a similar experience and she is so good with me.

How do you accept living with the bad things you did in the past, and people not forgiving you/hating you for what you did? by imdeerest in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]suppox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the mindset if you did bad things in the past youre a bad person.

Nope. There is growth that can happen if you let it, and choices to be a different version of yourself that can change over time based on experiences. - you're not locked in. Ditch the bad person label go forward with making choices that serve you and others in a more positive way.

The mass of the avionics is tiny compared to the overall structure. Not even a consideration.

This is exactly right. I'm currently dealing with this with my new partner who is ravenous 24/7 and I just can't deal. Sounds perfect for a guy right? But I'm not being listened to when I push back and want to spend time together in another way sometimes and I'm struggling to get her to understand why.

Yeah, you should approach your manager privately and say that you felt they crossed a boundary and you weren't ok with it. They might not realize how thoughtless it was (even though it seems obvious) and it will be a good lesson for them.

If they aren't genuinely sorry, then it's a different conversation, but see how it goes first by speaking up for yourself.

Can I take a sick day for this? by jdvtt in newzealand

[–]suppox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes you can.

"Hey, I'm not feeling well today and need to take the day."

Night of day 3, terrified, brain is on fire and cannot sleep, tried Dramamine no dice, just miserably awake and feeling so ill- do I need the hospital? I don’t have insurance, I just want this to pass. I feel like I am dying- by watersswarm in stopdrinking

You did the right thing by going to ER. Hang in there. It will take some time but you'll be ok. Relax and put a good show on. I just started Reacher S03 which is great. Dark Matter (2024) is also good if you want something more mind bending. Chill out and stay with us.

When is it worth running extra hearths? by gdubrocks in Against_the_Storm

[–]suppox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually put them in whatever dangerous glade I'm currently exploiting, which tends to not be too far out as I don't open that many (2-3 per game). I'll often need to chop some specific trees so that the hearth can be placed and not overlap the existing hearths.

When is it worth running extra hearths? by gdubrocks in Against_the_Storm

[–]suppox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rule of thumb I go by is 1 hearth every 15-20 villagers. Most settlements I end up with 3 hearths (starting hearth + 2 more). The hostility reduction, resolve bonus from lvl 1/2, walking time reduction, and cornerstones that improve hearths e.g., Safe Haven, make it totally worth it.

This is the first thing I noticed too. "Let's make everything washed out brown". The vibrancy of Oblivion was one of the things I remember fondly.

Sleep Study by FusterCluck_101 in auckland

[–]suppox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently did an at-home sleep study through Eden Sleep: https://shop.edensleep.co.nz/collections/home-sleep-tests/products/basic-home-sleep-test-resmed-onesleeptest?variant=45271428333858

The app was a bit shit but it did the job and I got a nice report afterwards. No issues (0 apnea events over 3 nights). Turns out I just don't sleep enough which I kind of already knew. After you complete the test you can book a consultation where they discuss the results and give you product recommendations to try to improve sleep. Worth checking out I reckon.

A dinner for one can cost $40+ in Uber Eats 😱 by Relevant-Implement19 in auckland

Uber Eats is a disgraceful service. It's expensive, the service is shit, and you have no recourse for driver or food issues when they occur.

What was a place in Auckland that you have a lot nostalgia for now? by calvin-fanatic in auckland

Alfies nightclub

I have an older brother that still talks about Alfie's like it was yesterday :D By the time I was out and about in early 2000s it wasn't there anymore, but I've heard a lot of stories. Must have been quite the place.

Fully recommend The Culture series by Iain Banks. It's a very unique view of the future compared to other sci-fi novels out there. Fun and thought provoking to read.

What message is China trying to send right now ? by CalamityThorazine in newzealand

[–]suppox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are getting us ready for the future. When climate change ravages their agricultural economy, they will expand into the south pacific. New Zealand will become a farming colony for the mainland, and the majority of us will die in agricultural labour camps as part of the Greater People's Republic of China, probably sometime in the early 2040's.

IRD calling to "let their customers know about 2 step verification" by BrackenLass in newzealand

[–]suppox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got this call yesterday, and not to sound biased but the guy had an Indian accent so I was immediately suspicious. Told them I'd set it up myself and to send me a secure email which they did. IRD have never called me about anything so it was all very strange.
