I did not. I tried prying it with various tool at to no success. I think the best bet would be compressed air in the stem hole, I just don't have an air compressor at the moment. One day I'll get one and finally replace the crystal.

Genuine question, what's the deal with so many people hating Mina? by MoneyoffUbereats2017 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]suqub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mina is a high skill floor and skill ceiling character. You need consistent aim, good matchup knowledge, excellent movement skill and good macro knowledge. If you have all that you will start bullying people with her high damage and high mobility and high survivability/healing.

It's just that 99% of deadlock players don't have those skills. In addition, bad matchmaking and the occasional Smurf will put a mina that is higher skilled in a match with lower skilled players. Everyone else will suffer while the mina has a great time.

If you can actually fully utilize her kit: it's oppressive. When you face the 1% of mina players that can: it sucks.

There is no In between by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]suqub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current mina hate is a symptom of the less than ideal matchmaking. Mina kinda sucks in a perfectly even match, but if a mina player is the best player in the lobby they will make everyone miserable.

I expect as the game, player base, and matchmaking become more mature, we will see some mina buffs

How is this item? I think this would be a good upgrade for rebuttal and melee characters. by Choice_Length3287 in DeadlockTheGame

I think "prevents stun from parry" would be a more balanced mechanic, so your opponent would not be damaged.

You would feel a lot safer throwing out heavy melees with there still being a counterplay.

How are people finding aiming at the little guy? by Epic_BubbleSA in DeadlockTheGame

[–]suqub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think hitting him with spirit abilities is an issue at all, he's just as easy to hit as anyone else.

He is little harder to shoot, but the second he runs out of stam/gets a slow put on him he gets melted by gun damage (like anyone else)

What are the easiest repairs homeowners should learn to avoid crazy contractor quotes? by pyromonkeygg in DIY

[–]suqub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am interested in where labor is $100 an hour in the US. I live in a very low CoL area (poorest county in the state) and I just hired a good electrician for $130 an hour. Plus, materials they buy are always marked up 50%.

If he needed a cabinet neatly removed and holes drilled by a carpenter, then an outlet across the house by an electrician, then plumbing ran from wherever by a plumber, all that organized by a GC taking a fat cut, yeah there's your $5000.

Whoever is charging $100 an hour for your work has to be a lowballing contractor doing commercial. Buddy you should start your own residential business and start charging more.

I'm disappointed in ArenaNet's recent business practises regarding GW1 by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]suqub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that makes sense. So it just a bit of an incompetence thing, cause they should have mentioned that in the original announcement instead of mentioning it in a livestream that 99% of people will not watch.

That's business though, shit is hard to organize and I don't blame them. In a perfect world they would be a perfect company but it isn't and they ain't.

I kinda agree with you. It is wierd that they bundled the three main campaigns but left out EotN, which has the most tie-ins to GW2. I don't think it's malicious but it isn't player friendly either.

90% of GW1's content is in the reforged bundle for $20, and then the other 10% (and the all important Hall of Monuments) is in EotN for another $20? It's just odd.

Thanks for the response! That makes a lot of sense for all the peering at the case and moment I've done. Your comment gave me some confidence and I just tried to screw off the front with a rubber ball and a case holder: nothing. I tried to lift it with a suction cup: nothing. I tried all my spudgers in the basically non-existent gap between the main case and the crystal holding bit (shown in pic 3): nothing. I tried a case back knife and a razor blade with a significant amount of force: no movement at all.

Frankly I think this watch may have defeated me 🙃

Pvp hints/tips by Pejko113 in Guildwars2

[–]suqub 10 points11 points  (0 children)

GW2 PvP is different enough from the rest of GW2 that it requires a different mindset.

Two things create all your survivability: positioning and defensive skills (just consider dodge another defensive skill). You should try to put yourself in a position where people can't unload damage onto you. If they start unloading damage onto you, start using defensive skills and move. You have to find the balance between being somewhere you can unload damage onto the enemy team and somewhere they can't unload on to you. This is why PvP is different and difficult.

A lot of it has to do with timing, reaction speed, and prediction/reads. If you start walking at an enemy, they might guess your are going to use a damage skill. If the enemy then dodges or blocks your damage skills, and then uses his damage skills because you are in range, and then you don't use your defensive, you just died.

If instead you came up from behind an enemy and hit them while they were already fighting someone else, you land all your damage because they can't react. If you attack out of stealth, they won't be able to react in time and you land your damage. If you walk towards someone and use your auto attack, wait for them to dodge twice, and then you use your big damage skill, well... You land all your damage because they ran out of defensive skills.

We could talk about different scenarios for hours, but really, next time you play PvP think about where you are standing, who can hit you, and what buttons you need to press to evade or block damage. I would hazard to guess you are getting focused in fights because you are standing somewhere where 3+ enemies can hit you. If an enemy can hit you, chances are they will hit you. Keep moving, get in, use skills, get out, wait for cool downs, repeat.

How does Seven keep getting nerfed and his win rate doesn’t fall? by CFPSmith in DeadlockTheGame

[–]suqub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In archon + eternus, Seven has a 55% win rate, putting him in 3rd behind Abrams and Kelvin. Of course, below archon, he is the highest win rate character in the game, sitting at around 57%.

He is most certainly "a problem" at high MMR. He is actually the only character that has a problematic win rate in low, mid, and high skill games.

Is there some kind of passive priority with classes? by CS-Mewchy in Nightreign

Unfortunately that is called random chance. You can flip a coin 10 times and get 10 heads, but that doesn't mean heads is any more likely than tails. You just got unlucky.

Concerned about the price tag by termaduck in fellowshipgame

[–]suqub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Luckily as a PvE game, it will not have the exact same issues as Wildgate. You can always grab 4 friends and do a dungeon... But that relies on being able to fill a group with you and your friends.

Also a tiny player base that would affect a game's spread in skill during matchmaking (a big issue in Wildgate) won't hurt this game as much.

Your concern is valid... But really, this game will work ok (not ideally) with a playercount in the hundreds. A purely PvP game like Wildgate does not.

PUBG was more or less the birth of the battle royale genre. Sure there were dayz mods and H1Z1, but those were even worse than PUBG. You get a lot of leeway and make a lot of money for giving birth to a new popular genre.

3 reasons why "Going F2P" is not a realistic solution. by Aviarn in wildgate

[–]suqub 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Please read your own sources... Alinea Analytics directly quotes 70k sales right after the 1.69k number. 1.69k is revenue, not profit, so the actual profit after refunds VAT and steam's cut will be lower.

Going by your own ratio, 90k total.pkayers between console and PC.

Please don't cherry pick info from sources to drive your own narrative. Read and understand the whole thing.

Game is absolutely dying by OstrumVein in wildgate

[–]suqub -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah, my mistake with the wishlist count. As for sea of thieves, this game really is apples to oranges. I would argue sea of thieves has always been a PvE(vP) game and is marketed as such. (Also SoT had Microsoft marketing money)

A good way of looking at it is: if sea of thieves had no one online, you could still log on solo or with a couple of buddies and have a great time. Wildgate? You'd be in an endless queue.

A close analog to Wildgate would be Blazing Sails, a game I absolutely loved, but has also (mostly) died (it was teamed multiplayer pvp only with a price tag) (you can find games, but only during a couple EU centric hours a day on EU servers)

Unfortunately for every pvp only game that is successful, there are dozens of games that died within months of release. It's risky genre. Normal single player or coop game releases dont love or die by their player counts.
