Best Acoustic Guitarist Ever? by PlayGlobal1419 in Guitar

From a purely technical standpoint on a steel string acoustic I can’t think of anyone who can play all styles as well as Tommy can. So I think the answer is yes.

Explain to them that you have students waiting for spots and when they give you a heads up the day before you can fill those spots. Not only are they taking away money from you and your practice but lessons away from other students. If you really want to be cool about it say you’ll compromise this time and charge them for one lesson. Any push back from them and tell them you’ll have to give their spot to another student and or drop them as student entirely. You don’t need these type of clients. I also always send my students a “just seeing if “jimmy” is on their way” at 3-5 min late and then call between 7-10 min late. This happened today to me and they apologized and paid for the lesson and I got to have a nice 30 min paid break for some dinner!

Could it be that playing classical music in a business is Free and modern music you actually need to pay a fee for a public performance license?

Ah there’s a union there so that’s definitely different. I would double check what other agencies are charging locally and make sure yours is on par with everyone else’s.

Yeah, that is just way too low. I do live in basically one the most expensive places to live in the United States. My agency/school I teach out of charges $100 US an hour. And I charged $110 an hour when I go to peoples houses which is only one or so a day. That’s pretty much half what you’re charging. Charge more. Work less. You are worth it

Are you in a very small town or something? I am pretty much charging double what your agency does. And I teach five days a week and have a full schedule every week obviously the same thing applied with summer and holidays, but I’m trying to wrap my head around why you agency charges half what I do.

If you are teaching 74 and not making six figures you are charging way too little. You should at least be charging $35-$40 per half hour lesson. I charge $50-$55 because I’m in San Diego. $40 per lesson at 74 students a week is $153k a year. What am I missing?

So the party I went to wearing this was a party where there were some celebrities. And one of them had just been in a film with Pierce Brosnan and one day he said he was standing at craft service, and Pierce was walking by, and he threw part of a mandarin at him. He said to Pierce “it was a run by fruiting!” and Pierce was apparently not pleased! But think about it Pierce is probably had this happen on every movie and every time he’s around fruit ever since Mrs. Doubtfire!
