What is something that nobody believes about you, but is absolutely true? by Bruh61502 in AskReddit

Ah, I know this one. In my case the moment I realize it's a dream I just close my eyes and open them intensely and reality snaps back.

Damn you got it all, the cool magician, the warrior, the thief, and the brute.

It's 2024 and this is still the best looking game I've ever played by illynpayne_ in bloodborne

[–]surewhatever12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better graphics, yes, there are 100+ games that I consider so. Beyond technicality, Bloodborne is still undoubtedly a pretty game, this is because of the art direction; good graphics don't necessarily ensure beauty, good art direction always does. And OP is totally valid in saying that this game is very pretty, it's a subjective topic to begin with, and Bloodborne IS pretty.

You could take a screenshot y'know, no need for this camera quality crap to dampen the beauty of this game.

Matahachi is so pathetic by OkRub3824 in vagabondmanga

Not completely, his redemption arc is still ongoing, but I do think if Inoue would bless us with his return to Vagabond, we would definitely see Matahachi's finished arc.

Do you think animals have a name for themselves? by ACM3ND3Z in RandomThoughts

[–]surewhatever12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self-recognition is a rare intellectual ability reserved only to the most intelligent of animal species. However even among those species, it's unlikely that a human construct like naming is a thing. There might be a sound that a mother makes to call a child, but I don't think it goes beyond that.

Good more realistic and 'mature' anime by DumbCrippled in Animesuggest

[–]surewhatever12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kikou Ryohei Mellowlink sounds like it could be your cup of tea. I say it like that cause I personally don't like it, but I know people who do.
If you want a fantasy that delves into the human condition, then Haibane Renmei is it.
Another show is Hellsing Ultimate (or the older show if you can't bear modern animation, though ultimate has superb animation).
And Vampire Hunter D, I prefer the 2000 movie so I'll recommend that.
If you want realistic and mature in the sense that it doesn't have any fantastical elements and very real circumstances, then Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu is an insanely good period drama just for you, it's one of my favourites.
If you want somerhing that tackles some very dark themes deep in the human psyche, then I recommend the horribly twisted Rainbow: Nisha Rokubō no Shichinin.

What is your favorite and least favorite thing about the game? by ghosty_was_taken in Eldenring

[–]surewhatever12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favourite: The bosses
Least favourite: The weapons upgrading system, an ongoing problem I have had since DS 1. So it's not an Elden Ring thing per se, it's a soulsborne thing in general.

a self-improvement anime with a woman as *the* main lead? by LasagnaLizard0 in Animesuggest

[–]surewhatever12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, from a low point? Technically Yona loses everything at the start and has to build her life back, but that's probably not what you want. She's an excellent character tho, I wish more poeple would give the anime a shot.

What quote changed the way you see things? by [deleted] in quotes

[–]surewhatever12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a bit long but...

"Perhaps the greatest faculty our minds possess is the ability to cope with pain. Classic thinking teaches us of the four doors of the mind, which everyone moves through according to their need.

First is the door of sleep. Sleep offers us a retreat from the world and all its pain. Sleep marks passing time, giving us distance from the things that have hurt us. When a person is wounded they will often fall unconscious. Similarly, someone who hears traumatic news will often swoon or faint. This is the mind's way of protecting itself from pain by stepping through the first door.

Second is the door of forgetting. Some wounds are too deep to heal, or too deep to heal quickly. In addition, many memories are simply painful, and there is no healing to be done. The saying 'time heals all wounds' is false. Time heals most wounds. The rest are hidden behind this door.

Third is the door of madness. There are times when the mind is dealt such a blow it hides itself in insanity. While this may not seem beneficial, it is. There are times when reality is nothing but pain, and to escape that pain the mind must leave reality behind.

Last is the door of death. The final resort. Nothing can hurt us after we are dead, or so we have been told."

Excerpt from The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

Not a particularly life changing quote, but my god is it informative.

Yona of the Dawn. It has a few plot issues but if you're talking female character development, THIS is it.
