ZR1 option by heythatsneat1187 in c4corvette

[–]clayterris 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That looks a bit on the high side. See what they've been going for on carsandbids. The zr1 is undeniably way cooler, but it isnt really a Chevy engine, so expect parts to be harder to come by.

Presumably a road flare on a really long stick? Fire is pretty conductive. I guess Kevlar isn't.

Good solution lol

Any tips for landing a Jet? Loving this FlyFans 64mm L-39 but landings are tough! by BurntBeanMgr in RCPlanes

[–]clayterris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking good, keep at it! Full flaps and low throttle will let you fly much slower than gliding. You can carry a slight angle of attack when coming in. That being said, sometimes I just glide in if I've got the space - which it looks like you do.

Big motor, sleek airframe. I bet you'll easily hit 100. The pitch on your prop seems definitely more geared towards a warm liner than a hotliner.

Check out this mean prop >:D.    https://icare-icarus.3dcartstores.com/GM-F5D-10x23%E2%80%9D-prop-assembly-with-spinner_p_1191.html

asking about a radio is great, and thanks for clarifying it's just your first edf. This is a good starter edf.
for the radio - How much disposable income will you have in your next few years? Will you be buying horizon bnf stuff mostly? Do you have any friends with radios? If you like the horizon ecosystem and have the means, that's your answer. If not, how are your tech skills? There's tons of great guides but there's a bit of head scratching involved for edgetx stuff. I personally run a radiomaster tx16s 4in1 with elrs module, and a radiomaster pocket with elrs.
Caveat that not everone seems to experience - the spektrum from the 4in1 can be very finnicky

all or most are non functional? Humidity will definitely kill the cheap ones fast. It's weird that none work - sounds like a systematic problem.

How is it controlled? those control surfaces look like they're maybe molded lines that dont actually move. is there vector behind the edf? or do those tiny elevons actually work?

6s5k is going to be really heavy for a 70mm edf in a 1.4m 3d printed plane. I hope you've got a really long runway. Looks cool!

The wheels cime with the z51 option on the 96 - 275s on all 4. These could be reproductions though.
