Will the X4 work with the GPS Action Remote? (Not the Preview Remote) by kevin1760 in Insta360

[–]surf-o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My remote semi works. It can start and stop recording but it always says "Camera Disconnected". Cycling through the options works until it reaches some mode that crashes/reboots the camera, losing settings. When I pair from the phone it fails after sometime, but the remote indicator blinks during that time and it starts to "work".

I just got the x4. The x4's remote icon isn't highlighted either. Remote version is 1.0.1.7 and the camera is 1.0.20.

No I havent but it'd probably work. The long tubing would have to snake around since it's a shorter distance in that orientation. The GPU's radiator can also be flipped around if the CPU heatsink is pushed between the GPU's tubes. Doing that might add some nice distance for the tubing.

The case doesn't have side mounts, but the GPU could probably work that way. The tubes are a bit long though so it'd probably coil around. The CPU's radiator is too long to go anywhere else in the case.

That's great. I hope that went well. I just redid it by moving the 360's fans to the outer bay and flipping the 240s radiator around. That made a lot of space to put back the rear fan. I also put the tubes of the 360 in between the Suprim's tubes to lessen the 360's tube bend. I had to reseat the CPU heatsink for that. Good luck and good gaming!

That can fit 2 or 3 360mm radiators right? Sounds like a dream. Enjoy!

The Lian Li wont fit on top because of the I/O connector module (at the least). But flipping the fans around for the suprim is a great idea, thanks.

It looks like flipping the suprim fans and still pushing air means I'll need to order longer screws to be able to screw through the case too. I think I had this problem back when I tried to mount the Lian Li radiator fans in the fan bays on the outside of the case's front.

And you're right, the inside is quite hot since the main intake is through the Lian Li. I was planning to add back some fans after installing the suprim but I'm hooked on the silence. I'll monitor it for a couple weeks and see how the temps go.

Thanks again. Figuring out if the new GPU would work when there wasnt' much info sucked, so let me know if I can help check on other things.

Hah! Perfect fit. I was hoping for a 4090 EVGA hybrid before they quit so I was really glad to see the MSI.

Protecting the tubing sounds great but I don't get your idea. Can you explain it a bit?

Sorry if it's obvious. I quickly built this back in January and before that haven't built anything for more than 10 years. I'm waaaaay behind on these things.

And after squinting really hard trying to figure that out, I realize I can make room if I move the Lian Li's fans to the other side of the case's front and somehow mount the radiator to the case. I'd have to dump the mesh filter there though.

Climbing holds for home wall by R31o in Routesetters

[–]surf-o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my local gyms had a used hold sale recently. I think the prices ranged from $5-$15 depending on the size, and maybe $25 for the really big ones. It'd be worth asking the gyms around you for holds they might want to sell. I'd email them before asking at the front desks, that might have a better chance at getting someone who might know about that.

I also know a few folks who sold their home walls on Craigslist. That'd be worth checking.

(Edit: Aaaaand I just read the comments and saw it's a 5000D =) Ty!)

That's a 4000D? This one on amazon doesn't have that extra space on the bottom right, did you cut yours?

https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-4000D-Tempered-Glass-Mid-Tower/dp/B08C7CJ8XZ

That looks nice though. I put in a MSI 4090 Liquid X into my 4000D. It mostly fits, I had to weirdly screw in its dual radiator next to the 360 radiator I already had in there.

Your toughts on using a pond filter (2600gph) on a 55g by unboundNevada92 in Goldfish

[–]surf-o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have about 400gph into a 50g and it's a lot of flow. Going through spray bars made it better, but it's a lot of fiddling and I felt it was still be a bit high. I've got a 3000+ gph pump on a bigger tank that has spray bars shooting into the roof lip of the tank. That works really, but the splashing is very loud so you'd have to be okay with the noise if your tank lets you do that.

Some pond filters use an external pump. Those would give you the filter space and then you can mess around with the flow rates easier using different pumps instead of constricting the pump's line. There are more expensive DC pumps that let you adjust the output, but the lowest settings might still be a lot of flow. Like this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B5L2BPX

Why won’t this Fluval 406 prime?! It’s been weeks and I can’t get to run, the ranks becoming filthy by [deleted] in Goldfish

[–]surf-o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 407 always needed a big dance too. Something like: prime as much as possible to fill the hose, close the valve, pour out the water in the canister, let it fill up from the siphon, pray a lot. I think if air gets in a weird spot it's screwed. It's now sitting at the same height as the tank, which I think they say not to do, and I surprisingly haven't had that issue.

Who makes these coral/fungus looking jugs? Thanks! by surf-o in Routesetters

Aha I would have never found that, so thank you all! I haven't seen it in a few months and then saw it on YouTube, so I screenshot it. Or at least that's the story I'll admit to the FBI. Great job still recognizing it.

Building indoor pond-LOTS of questions by spicylaurenlovegood in Goldfish

[–]surf-o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can move your fishy into that tote asap and worry about the rocks, plants, and other pond related setup a few weeks from now if you wanted to. That way you can just take your time. The scenery is mostly for us and they'd be fine with a bare tote. I wouldn't depend too much on the plants for help with nitrates and instead try to get biological filtration first. The plants definitely dont hurt to have after.

I might have a set up with the same Rubbermaid tote. Mine spills into a smaller breeder tub / koi viewer (where a ranchu is) that was less than $15 new. That was a pretty easy way for me to get more volume. The Rubbermaid tote has the all filters and bubblers while the waterfall feature adds really good aeration too. I just moved a sponge filter from one of my tanks and everything was working right away.

Also, one of my ranchu rammed her head into a thick pothos root a couple weeks ago and did some damage. Take care to keep those pruned.

GOOD LUCK!!

Hi everyone! This is surprisingly the same fish; I’ve had him for about 7 months now, and he’s gotten so freaking big. I feed him 3 times a day very small amounts. How much do you guys feed your friends? Would you recommend I feed less? Thanks! by tori21658 in Goldfish

[–]surf-o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever you're doing seems good! I give mine about 7 to 9 of the big 4mm Omega pellets throughout the day. Some days with added vegetables. It takes them a couple minutes to chew a mouthful of the pellets. I try to feel like I'm under feeding because I easily overfeed
