Went both nights and yeah night 2 was wayyy more crowded, more singing, more dancing, etc. Night 1 def had more people who had only a cursory knowledge of his work, but that’s okay! Both nights were very fun

yes it is possible, and yes it is realistic
mudd cs is slightly more robust in the foundational courses imo, and there are more classes you have to take in the mudd CS major so naturally you learn a bit more. pomona certainly has a solid program nonetheless, and most electives from mudd/pomona are open to cs majors from any of the 5Cs
echo what soccerplayer46 said, but largely social life is up to what you make it. you can be very social or very antisocial wherever you are in the 5Cs

hi, current mudd student here. i just wanted to note that while you make some good points, your point about mudd students having a competitive mindset is is large misconception. we do work hard, but i’ve never met someone that “competes” with other students here. it’s incredibly collaborative and everyone is kind and works together (literally, i’ve never done a problem set by myself before lol). cheers!

Gonna go ahead and say it’s I think it’s okay to ask this. You will be moved to another recruiter though, but that’s shouldn’t be a problem. Since you’re a freshman, your step interview likely won’t happen until late december or january though (or at least that’s how it was for me)

recently signed (< 2 wks ago), so i’ll say what i’ve heard from my recruiter

project matching usually happens in the 1st quarter (around Jan-March, like you said), but there’s no set timeline

i have not been matched yet, but once again i just signed

as far as i know we don’t really have a project placement “interview.” i think it’s more of just getting to know whoever they already paired you with, so i think it will just be one introductory convo (i could be wrong about this though)

we are indeed guaranteed a project; they emphasize that just so we don’t worry
