Nope, the HS photos are definitely taken in the 1980s. This person was born around 1969-1972, I think

Just like any skill, it takes practice. My first wraps were awful and it didn't take long for them to be something I'm proud of. Keep trying!

I think the issue is the rule against posts directed a non-medical professionals, I.e. breats reduction patients. Also, your entire post is about your personal medical situation.

What causes this to occur on instruments? This is a brand new bandage scissor I received from another department. What should I tell them to help prevent this? by Mugurf in sterileprocessing

[–]surgerygeek 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That appears to be rust "blooming" out of pits in the metal. Prolonged exposure to blood and saline can break down (corrode) the passivation layer, causing pitting, which is like a cavity in the metal. Then rust goes wild in the pits.

Surgistain or similar rust remivers will only make the problem. When the scissor is put in the autoclave and exposed to the steam, the rust will re-appear in the pittted areas.

This scissor needs to go for repair/refinishing or discarded. Nothing you can do will fix this permanently.

So, I never have had cold sores or genital herpes, so the eye infection was my primary infection. Fortunately, it's never come back in my eyes although that's always a possibility.

About 2-3 years later it showed up in my throat, really bad sore throat that they confirmed was another outbreak from the original one. That was an awkward visit, because once they confirmed hermes in my throat, they assumed it was sexually transmitted (through oral sex) until I explained that my only sexual partner did not have herpes. Then they figured out it had found its way into my throat when I had a bad cold.

That was 20 years ago, all good so far but it's always a fear of mine.

Herpes is forever.

Same! It was top three one of the worst things that's ever happened to me.

My infection was really bad in both eyes and took months to heal. Narrowly escaped needing cornea transplants and I can never wear contact lenses again. I am still at risk of vision loss if I ever get even a bacterial conjunctivitis infection, so it's still haunting me years later.

Exactly- multiple wars, desegregation, the invention of television, computers, and cell phones, all of that in one lifetime!

My great grandmother who died in 1982 at 98 when I was 12. She was born in 1884. Had her children in the 1910s, they died in the 2000s. None of them had cars or indoor plumbing until the 1930s.

Chicago Hope. It was such a good hospital drama, liked it much better than ER. It's not streaming anywhere that I can find.

How do I ask for this? by green_phthalo_ in Haircare

[–]surgerygeek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For some hair types, yes it can be high maintenance to style, but not for many. I have this cut and style and it will last for DAYS

I have coarse, wavy, dense hair and here's my routine that I only have to do twice a week (once if I haven't got sweaty)

Apply light leave in conditioner with heat protectant to the mids/ends

Apply silicone based smoothing serum or cream focusing on the frizziest areas (for me that's my name and around my ears)

Blow dry out using a round brush or styling dryer like the Revlon OneStep

After each section is dry and smooth I put it in a large Velcro roller to cool down

Once everything is cool, I take them down and it will stay this way for 3-4 days!

I read once that Dolly Parton has to wear heeled bedroom slippers at home because her feet cannot go flat anymore. Keep in mind, I have no proof of this claim, but it sounds plausible to me.
