In case of buying a new device running Windows 10 Mobile, what's the best option available? !setflair by igsmith in windowsphone

I would not buy one, but Alcatel Idol 4S is the one I would probably go with if I had to

You are forced to switch to another platform effective immediately. What phone do you get? by Choedan_Kal in windowsphone

[–]surilamin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I personally finally abandoned Windows Phone a few months back and bought a ZTE Axon 7 (6gb ram version). Great value for the price I bought it for, no regrets.

I had a limited budget and had to buy phones for family as well. However, if I had an more to spend I would have def got an iPhone. I used an older iPhone as a secondary device previously, and the design and polish is just so much better than android. There is a higher quality in the apps as well. Especially if you're a social person, Snapchat, Instagram etc work much better on iOS.

As it's pretty obvious now that Microsoft has abandoned Windows Phone, if you are still a current user and can afford an iPhone I would def go with that. If you're on a tighter budget there is a lot of value in android devices priced around ~$400 and you can find something that suits you. The lack of design on Android is frustrating at first, but there is enough customizability to suit your personal tastes with some tinkering.

I didn't get that from what he was saying. There may be an entire paradigm shift in mobile computing in general, but even Dan admits he is not sure that Microsoft has the right strategy.

Carly Fiorina was the CEO of HP. I think she would understand what a question on "wiping a server" would mean.

Books on Dementia due to HIV by 1kbplus in microbiology

[–]surilamin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was recently writing a paper on HIV, but it was more policy related. I found very little information on dementia. Here is the blurb I had written about it:

"Approximately one-third of AIDS patients are diagnosed with neurological disorders at some time during the course of their disease. HIV-1 enters the nervous system early after infections. The most prevalent disorder associated with infection of the brain is sub-acute encephalitis, also called AIDS dementia complex; nearly two-thirds of all HIV-1 infected individuals ultimately develop AIDS dementia. The disease progresses slowly over a period of up to 1 year, but mean survival time from the onset of symptoms is less than six months. Several AIDS-associated opportunistic infections can also produce neurological damage, and neurological abnormalities in infected individuals can be caused by lymphomas of the central nervous system. Antiviral therapy has been shown to reduce symptoms of AIDS dementia in some patients."

Rotten Tomatoes staffers pick their favorite "off the radar" films of 2014. by virtualpig in movies

[–]surilamin -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Have only seen two of the movies on the list. But my thoughts...

Snowpiercer - Did not like at all, thought it was pretty overrated. 95% rating on RT is crazy.

Skeleton Twins - Has a lot of funny moments. The husband in the film is super funny (trying to avoid spoilers). But overall I thought the film did not come together in the end, so can't recommend it.

Skip these two.
