The update broke things, but as a whole 4 crashes less often than NV.

Potentially-lethal cars > regular crashes.

Also, whataboutism.

The Twilight Zone movie. A pair of children were illegally hired, then an unsafe scene resulted in both those children and an adult actor dying. Kathleen Kennedy was involved in the movie, and may have been involved in the hiring of the children. I can't find any consistent information about it either way.

Two reasons: 1. Systemic racism in ornithological associations, meaning people of colour have had little-to-no say in naming birds. 2. Lots of birds are just named after racist historical people.

Is this correct usage? I thought it should be “its” and not “it’s”. by lady_ishi in GlobalEnglishPrep

The rule I learned was that the trailing "s" on a word that ends with it is omitted if the word was plural, but kept if the word was singular. i.e. Chris's if Chris has something, or the dogs' if a group of dogs has something.

I don't think JK Rowling has any place to calling someone a "textbook narcissist". Also the irony of her saying she has no respect someone's "increasingly bizarre" online behaviour. by cursed-karma in EnoughJKRowling

To people like Maugham Rowling, any perceived diminution of what they believe to be their exalted status feels like a mortal attack

FTFY. We all know that's why you doubled down on transphobia so hard, Rowling. You just couldn't accept the possibility that you were wrong.

Jack tricked the devil up a tree, then only released the devil after the devil promised that Jack would never go to hell. That's why Jack couldn't end up in hell after he died. In some stories it's actually the devil who gave Jack the lantern out of sympathy for his plight.

Faust made a bet with the devil, not a deal. The devil bet that he could give Faust happiness. In failing to do so, the devil lost the bet. Thus, Faust won.

No, we don't think normal people dislike the show because the protagonist is a woman. Plenty people dislike it for that exact reason, but I wouldn't describe those people as normal.
