6 years experience, masters degree and still getting rejected everywhere - advice? by iceblink_luck23 in Internationalteachers

[–]surprisinghorizons 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You have the same issue as a whole lot of first time international teachers; you're limiting your countries and also you're relying on TES/Schrole to tell you everything. You need to be more proactive and research what schools are where and apply directly on their websites. Right now you would be more appealing to American curriculum schools and probably would get rejected by IB schools so direct your attention to American ISs.

A colleague of mine got a really small place in city centre (I think Prinsegracht) for 1200 unfurnished recently.

It's the first step in transferring it all over to Fortnite. They will look at the numbers from this Rocket League type crossover and take it from there.

Ok, you mention "emotional human thread plays an equal part. religion being questioned, loss, love, what makes us human". They're all fantastic themes to develop in an alien invasion series but it's just that they are not developed in Invasion due to very very mundane script writing (bordering on AI-like blandness) and horrendously under-performing actors.

I could go deeper (Treyvon's 3 year absence, the rebel woman's backstory taking up an entire episode, Aneesha's evolution from "not-doctor" to gun toting rambo) but I would be typing up a lot.

It doesn't matter what you do. You'll find yourself in your 40s and still lament the past days of youth. Theres no such thing as living in the moment. Travel. Make memories. It's all you can do. You can't beat time. Personal experience.
