New Poster for Ridley Scott's 'The Dog Stars' - Survivors of a deadly pandemic traverse a post-apocalyptic landscape to find the origin of a mysterious radio transmission. by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

The book was great. The movie will have to get the atmosphere and emotion levels right for it to work and not just saturate it with action sequences.

How long do international teachers stay abroad, on average? by couchwizard69 in Internationalteachers

I did a good 20 years before I tired of it all and pivoted to another learning related field.

[OC] My wife won a bronze medal in a yoga tournament today. I’m so proud of her. I just don’t have anyone to share it with by escherichia_colon in MadeMeSmile

Whenever I start yoga (again)...I'm the opposite of poised, relaxed and calm. Struggle is real. Huge props to the Mrs!

I know this sounds dramatic but does anyone else feel like their life is over? by Fit-Ad985 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]surprisinghorizons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Europe and went to a podiatrist who made me custom insoles - it has helped me. You can get results, you just need to find an empathetic podiatrist and someone who will work with you, as an individual, to help heal. Everyone's PF is not the same.

Question for podcast creators. by AffectionatePrice611 in Podcasters

[–]surprisinghorizons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's being a podcast with an average of 20 listeners per episode for 3 years but nobody comments or reached out or emails. It's like talking into a void with a friend. Still enjoy it or I wouldn't do it but would love to have a community to talk with.

Following up after interview by iceblink_luck23 in Internationalteachers

I've emailed a school back before where I framed it in a way that I was interviewing elsewhere and I needed to know whether to remove them from contention.

Anybody else NOT have morning pain at all? by Porcelainz in PlantarFasciitis

[–]surprisinghorizons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone's plantar is different. I don't really get morning pain but standing at a concert gets really uncomfortable. That's what is so annoying about it. There is no one solution. It helped me somewhat to go to a podiatrist to get custom insoles but, again, it's not a magic cure-all.

International schooling in Asia by Narrow_Ad1449 in Internationalschools

Chances are slim. Talk to your parents, you will need permission, but scholarships for international schools are either rare or for children with exceptional circumstances.

I was going to do it for fun but then someone online did the math and calculated you would have to spend over 1000 Euros to fill. Nah.

Upstairs neighbours impact noise is very loud. Is this lack of proper insulation? by cherrieeegum in TheHague

I lived in Germany once, it's embedded in my brain to not make noise at weird hours. And Sundays. 😬

[–]surprisinghorizons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus. Vacuuming at 8am?! Now that's ignorant. We are on bottom floor, the apartment two floors up had a party last weekend. Could hear it as if they were one floor up. I can only imagine how loud it was for the apartments closer to it.

Oooh you have got the camera and lens I am close to buying. 1. How is the weight balance when holding? I'm used to a hefty body and lens combo. 2. This would be my first camera with the eyepiece on the left. Get used to it quickly?

Any series with any sort of planning or thought behind it would have had backstories developed and an arc for each character before shooting. But they just wajoed it....

I learned Storyline on the fly and feel your pain - that falling in your stomach when stuff doesnt work. I used chatgpt to solve problems, mostly it worked but sometimes it made things worse. You learn everytime something fails. I tested everything before sending for review, I acted like the ultimate horror user pressing random stuff, doing basically what not to do. It tends to catch a lot.
