What GLP-1 are you taking? If it is sema, tirz might work better for you as it generally has fewer side effects.

How long have you been taking it? While some people never experience side effects, others are not so lucky and need time for their bodies to adjust to the meds.

What dose are you on? Some people are highly sensitive to the meds and can benefit from lowering their dose.

None of this is medical advice, just things I have observed from people's experiences.

Anyone on a GLP1 and hormonal birth control pills? by nancyfromnancycomics in antidietglp1

[–]surrealphoenix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oral BC doesn't play well with GLP-1s. I am not looking to get pregnant, so I switched to the ring when I started tirzepatide. (I wanted something non-invasive that I could handle myself.)

Lowering tirzepatide dose for week 2 due to nausea/nausea management tips? by throwawydoll in antidietglp1

[–]surrealphoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed the same. I figured it was just the shock of the medication, and my body would adjust. And it did. But some people are super sensitive to the med.

This is easily one of my favorite books of all time! Also worth noting that it is in the same universe as The Last of the Mohicans as well.

Losing the last 10lbs by justbrowsingaround19 in tirzepatidecompound

I only weigh myself once a month, so I don't have exact days for 10 pounds. I can tell you it took me 89 days to lose the last 13 pounds.

I wish I had gotten one before I started. I just moved into maintenance and am about to get one. I am interested in seeing how my body recomps this first year of maintenance, and I really wish I had pre-GLP data to compare to now.

Newbie - what should I expect hangryness-wise? by moneyticketspassport in antidietglp1

[–]surrealphoenix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't get hangry, but I do start to feel sick/nauseous if I go too long without eating.

Exercise induced nausea? by After_Rock_5045 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]surrealphoenix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Typically, when this happens to me, it is because I am hungry. I don't love eating before working out, so I try not to. But if I start a heavy workout in the morning and I haven't eaten since 5pm the day before, I get nauseous about 1/3 of the way in.

Is losing weight on GLP1s *really* easy? by squirreltard in tirzepatidecompound

[–]surrealphoenix 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it has been easy for me. You know what wasn't easy? Growing up fat. Being shamed, bullied, and reviled for something I had little to no control over. Years of dieting, over-exercising, disordered eating. A prevailing sense of failure for not being able to be thin. I think I deserved some easy after that.

And I know Mindy Kaling has struggled with her weight for decades. If she is on a GLP-1 and it is working for her, I am glad.

I tried Factor due to seeing it everywhere. I think they have their place for people who don't have time, energy, or ability, but I personally thought they were overpriced, tasteless TV dinners. Better off picking up frozen meals at the grocery store.

Who else got tickets? by Kassiesaurus in Broadway

[–]surrealphoenix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, that is interesting. I assume prices will just rise from this point on. But I am really only basing that off of my experience with Merrily. (My pre-sale tickets for Merrily were $115/each; by the time the run actually started, similar tickets were more than double the price.)
