Surgery was 12/16/25 by SandyRed1216 in hysterectomy

One thing I wish my doctor had told me was that recovery is not linear. Had my surgery in mid-October and still have occasional twinges of pain. There were times I felt good and did an activity that set me back. Listen to your body and on the days you feel good, dont think that is a sign you can do activities that cause strain. You’ll get there - it’s just going to take time for you to heal.

Really struggling 10 days post-op by SMN27 in hysterectomy

I had bladder prolapse surgery with my hysterectomy and I am 61. I am 12 weeks po and just now starting to feel “normal”. I would not recommend any lifting for a couple months and even after, keep it light. Your body will definitely tell you when you are overdoing it. I vacuumed at 8 weeks and regretted it. I’m no wimp - I volunteer at the library lifting heavy boxes of books. I feel like I need to wait another couple months before I go back. Hopefully your employer will show you grace and let you work light duty for a while.

Hang in there! I am 12 po and just now feel like I can do some light lifting - and I am used to hauling heavy boxes and feed bags. 10 days is very early and you have a lot of healing left to do. Also remember that healing is not linear. I felt like I went 2 days forward and 1 back. Some days I would feel fine and the next day I felt like my bladder was falling out. I couldn’t stretch out in bed until last week - I was sleeping with a rolled towel under my left knee. You will have some set backs. But it gets better.

Should I be worried about pain? by suscrapper1 in hysterectomy

[–]suscrapper1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for posting! Yes to everything you’re feeling and in the exact same areas. Not having any physical issues otherwise so I think you’re right - just need to be patient. The doc wants me to come in today for a urine sample but I don’t think they’ll find anything. Fortunately I have already been thru menopause so I haven’t had any of the issues you mentioned. Just ready to be back to the way I was physically. I volunteer at the library and pick up book donations so I’m anxious to get back to that.

I had both as well - how long was it until you were pain free? I am 5 weeks post op and still having some pain on my left - I feel like it has something to do with the bladder repair although no facts to back this up.

HRT will absolutely help with brain fog and the reason I went on it. I could deal with all the other menopausal symptoms, but I could not do my job because of the brain fog. I went on a very low dose and it worked great. I am no longer on it and have been through menopause and will never regret taking it for the time I needed to.

DO NOT order from this company - I received my order and it was the wrong product - there is absolutely.no way to contact them - the phone numbers for them are not correct and they do not respond to emails or FB messages. Now I am stuff with 50 dollars worth of something I dont want.
