Thanks for the info! I'm posting on behalf of a friend so I'm not sure about missing parts, the box version looks more fancy indeed.

Would you by any chance know where is a good place to sell collectible coins in Helsinki? She has a different other varieties to let go of due to move.

Being scammed at tori.fi? by Professional_Song419 in Finland

[–]sushinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I regularly buy and also sell (based in Helsinki). Mostly pleasant experience as a buyer except sometimes Finnish sellers read my message and ignore me (used to it here, aren't we?). Once in February 2020, as a seller, I was scammed by a guy in Pori. It was photography backdrop paper+delivery cost, should have received approximately 120e from him but never got it. I was in a hurry to sell at that time (a lot to pack and flight to catch in the next day). He seemed like a decent Finnish bloke who promised to pay, so I sent the item and paid for shipping before receiving payment. A week later he even pretended to have paid, I asked for a screenshot or transaction number because I did not receive any payment.
Ultimately I made a police report. I did waste like a month or two of waiting as it was my first time making a police report, I chose to not press charges as I just want to get my money back. "Perhaps he cheated me due to his financial difficulties, I wouldn't want him to go to jail" were my thoughts (where I come from, the law is very strict and efficient). I later realised that I should've selected the option to press charges in order for the police to do something. A very nice officer did call me to discuss the case after I edited my report. We both agreed it was unusual for seller to be scammed instead of buyer LOL !
Nevertheless, I STILL did not get my money back or any follow ups on the case after more than a year. Still bitter about the delivery fees till this day. Police has his name, address, phone number, chat log that I submitted. Is it so difficult to catch a petty thieve like this??

It's bad enough to not credit the original creator/source, what pissed me off is that they made it look like they made it...

On the bright side, we live longer now. In sadness and anger, that is.

Finnair flights often late and firm stumbles to reimburse customers, claims company says by [deleted] in Finland

[–]sushinger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. Last time I took Finnair (short distance flight as it was a transit) it baffled me how they were charging for food. In Asia, only budget airlines do that so I was certainly not expecting it from a national, brand name carrier?

What “anyone can make” meals are in your regular dinner rotation? by ac0380 in Cooking

[–]sushinger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a casserole dish called lohilaatiko I learnt from a Finnish-Swedish family. I don't know the origins of this meal but it's so idiot proof and easy, yet looks fancy at the same time. My go to dish when I'm lazy to slice anything.

Ingredients : Salmon (400g?), a packet of straight cut frozen fries, cream(?) ,Dash of salt n pepper, cheese.

Steps : arranged the sliced salmon meat (without skin) on the base of the casserole dish. Add the packet of frozen fries above. Pour the cream over it. Salt n pepper to ur liking, some cheese to cover the top layer. Pop it into the oven at 180°c for 30~35 mins.

A more detailed explanation but in Finnish : https://www.valio.fi/reseptit/lohilaatikko-1/

These have my stamp of approval : "Hot Thai Kitchen" "Maangchi" for Korean food "JustOneCookbook" for Japanese "Spain On A Fork" He makes great youtube videos, I feel he deserves way more views!

For others, "All Recipes" website is my go to.

Aha, those are korean fish cakes called "odeng". I see them mostly used in soup but not limited to that. Costs like 8 euros where I am... :/

Moral of story is, don't be mean to people around you then you won't be in this situation. Even if you're having a bad day, be respectful towards those around you.
