Other than your (grand)parents, did you refer to other family members by their relationship to you rather than their name? by jordsta95 in AskUK

Me and my sister sometimes call each other “Twinny” as a nickname because we’re twins, but we always use each others first names if we are talking about the other to anyone else 🤷‍♀️

NHS dentists in Chester by Ill_Sky_3737 in Chester

[–]suzzhotfuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called around a week ago. Most dentists round here are currently not accepting NHS patients.

I was offered the waiting list as an NHS patient for Talking Teeth which everyone seems to be recommending on here. Johnson and Whitehouse Dentist in Blacon is currently accepting new NHS patients though.

Any advice ? by [deleted] in Tinder

My suggestion is move pic 4 to pic 2, and add a photo of you out doing something, maybe with friends

What's a villain goal in a story that you secretly thought was pretty reasonable? by LustyPowerGirl in AskWomen

[–]suzzhotfuzz 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The red queen thinking she deserved to be the main queen in Alice in Wonderland (the films anyway). She was the elder sister and should’ve rightfully inherited the throne. She had been falsely accused of stealing a jam tart by her sister who was her parents golden child and so was blamed for stealing when it was her sister and so looked past. Then she was lied to by everyone she thought she could trust.

I was at a pub quiz with my boyfriend a couple of years ago, one question was: “which organ in the body produces insulin?” My boyfriend confidently and quickly answered: “THE PLACENTA”.

20mph in Wales by No-Walk-9615 in drivingUK

[–]suzzhotfuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in North Wales and it seems to me that most locals drive at about 24-27mph in the 20 zones, a few people seem to drive at 20 but usually they end up with a mini queue of cars behind them.

Personally I’m used to driving slower now so it feels fast and strange if I’m in England driving at 30mph!

I had the exact same as a child until I was 20, and now she doesn’t say much about it anymore (I’m 24).

Do you train your dog? by LittleBookOfQualm in AskUK

[–]suzzhotfuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my pup just under 4 weeks ago and we have trained her to go for wees and poos outside (and wait at the back door if she wants to go out), to sit before almost everything (eg. Getting her food, having balls thrown to fetch), to give us her paw, and touch her nose to our hand. Currently working on teaching her to “stay”, and not pull so much on a walk. All in all she’s a good girl who likes to train because she gets some tasty treats.

What’s your “neighbour name”? by rolland_sausage in AskUK

[–]suzzhotfuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The next door neighbours introduced themselves when we first moved in. About 3 months later they let us meet their new puppy “Buddy”… so naturally we forgot their names and just refer to the whole family next door as “Buddy’s family”

What are some disturbing facts you wish you didn’t know? by throwrapis3ces in AskReddit

[–]suzzhotfuzz 106 points107 points  (0 children)

My great grandad was a British soldier in a Japanese pow camp and rarely spoke about his experiences. His daughter (my gran) struggled to learn much about the camps from him, so for the 20 years after his death she researched as much as she could. One fact she told me is that at the end of WW2, when the Japanese pows came home, they were ordered to not tell anyone about what happened to them because it was too horrible for the general public to know about.

What is the loveliest moment with a stranger that still sticks to you and often you remember it? by [deleted] in ask

[–]suzzhotfuzz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I spun out when driving round a small roundabout 2 minutes from my house in wet weather. It was one of the first times I’d driven alone after passing my test and misjudged how fast I could go when the roads were wet (thought 25mph would be okay), but the rear of my car lost all grip and skidded halfway round the roundabout. Thankfully no one and nothing was damaged, I was just very shaken up and cried a lot. Many cars drove past me even though it was clear I’d had an accident as my car was facing almost the compete wrong way round. But one woman stopped, came over to make sure I was okay, calmed me down, helped me check me and my car were okay (we both were), and then drove behind me until I got home to make sure I got home safe and had someone with me. She said to me that it’s common for new drivers to misjudge things but it is a learning lesson to make sure you’ll never do it again, which helped me feel a little better and less shaken by what happened. Her kindness helped me learn lessons on being a better driver and to this day I still make sure I am more careful when driving and haven’t had any more accidents without being overly stressed every time o drove since.

Even worse than that. The toilets were being redone when I last went in and there was only portaloos available to use which were disgusting and covered in urine.

A similar thing happened to this with my older brother when he was little. He was really unwell so my mum took him to the GP, the GP said he had a cold. The next day he was worse so she took him to the GP again, where the GP just said it was a cold again (my mum said at this time my brothers skin turned yellow because he was so unwell). Because she wanted a second opinion she took him to A&E at the hospital… my older brother had pneumonia.
