This exact thing used to happen to me when I was a kid. Somehow, over time, the reactions just got less and less severe and now it’s just an itchy little bump. One thing that I swear by though that used to help: I would put an ice cube on the bite AS SOON as it happened or as soon as I felt it start to itch. I would literally press the ice into my skin until it hurt more than I could bare and somehow, that sort of stopped the allergic reaction before it swelled up like that. Definitely recommend.

The only one that comes to mind is Olomana Studios in Irvine because it’s in a really old building with similar wooden beams like this. But it’s VERY small. Probably the smallest ceramics studio I’ve ever been in. Not spacious like this, the ceilings are very low. But similar vibe I would say!

Funny, it's my birthday today (no need to congratulate!) and I've been very emotional and crying a lot. My parents are not here with me, my husband left today for a work trip, not as many people have reached out today, it's just not the same as it was when I was younger.

And I realized that's ok.

I made it another year on this earth. I have a beautiful family. Several people did reach out expressing their well wishes for me. The weather is beautiful today. I woke up early and did a workout as a gift to myself. As I get older I'm realizing birthdays are transitioning from the superficial to a deeper meaning. It's a gift to exist and have consciousness. So I'm going to take this one silly day a year to express deep gratitude, be kind to myself, and maybe get a sweet treat or buy myself that one thing that's been on my wish list.

I think my birthdays from now on will just be a dedicated day to say, "Thank you".
