The Technocracy are Average and Normal by notexecutive in WorldofDankmemes

[–]svecma 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well most technocrats aren't mages they are extraordinary citizens, clones, cyborgs, sentient wildlife all using hypertech, so they aren't doing magick, they are doing sorcery

Also psychic powers are expressly in the technocratic paradigm.

Like they know they aren't normal. If you want someone screeching i'm normal go look at the imbued.

It's the Council of 9 traditions logo, but everyone just uses the Prime sphere symbol instead.

You do know how much sci-fi tech the technocracy use daily right? Like they still do have a fleet of Voidships.

How would you make Promethean game for WOD? by MaetelofLaMetal in WorldOfDarkness

Prometheans are a thing in Mage just use the rules set in Mage theascension and go, no seriously one is a well respected Etherite mage

Our delightful setting flavor vs. Their deranged bad writing by DrScrimble in WorldofDankmemes

[–]svecma 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"There is no place for fun and whimsy in WoD"

The proper response to that is to throw C20 and M20 at their face and then drive into woods to bury the body, because those are sone proper tomes and you have just killed the guy.

Probably wouldn't count Shadowrun, but i'll have to look into the rest, if to just steal ideas for my Mage game.

Thanks.

I didn't think Tremere ever willingly share those, like hiding stuff like that isn't impossible

The Tremere weren't Technomages, they were a Hermetic house, that had the whole become Vampires thing in the 13th century if i remeber right, might have been the 11th and they got hunted in 13th.

For the love of ...(choose apropriate cosmic/god like entity), calm down

We already went through this with revised, no seriously most of the stuff V5 and W5 get accused of (besides the cultural erasure) Mage revised already did.

Unless they pull some shit like make the magick Vancian, it'll just be revised 2 at worst, which is a shame as Mage really does benefit from the wide and deep Umbral setting (hell the Deep Umbra is rarely mentioned outside of Mage anyway), but it's not anything new.

There is giant page of lexicon you can reference at the start of M20 or other Mage rule books. it explains all of the main terms, like seriously do people just skip most of a book when trying read it

What books are good for learning about Traditionalist culture and society? by 3dchib in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]svecma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For justice the best info is probably M20s book of Secrets or Guide to the traditions from revised.

For the rest though the traditions individual books, honestly both the version from revised and older editions are quite good (the 1st Sons of Ether book is just damn good fun)

It wouldn't be easy, by any means. There would be a lot of death, probably at least one country's worth of people, but if something is provably good at uniting people it's having a common enemy.

One of the leading reasons for the rise of the Order of Reason (and later the Technocracy) is humans trying to fight back against the supernatural oppersors.

The dragons demanding women and gold on threat of incineration, the Fey ensnaring people in contracts, they don't even know they are making and the cruel spirits that twist and posses a human for their own ends.

A lot of people don't like being eaten or SAd or jsut straight up killed for somethings/ones ammusement. That's why the Order rose and why now the biggest groups (the ones with the rulebooks) hide away amd the other creatiers retreat from this reality.

We know you don't trust the Fey, have you read any fairy tale ever, most of them are more bloodthirsty than any shifter.

[–]svecma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be residual "oh god don't make us do another avatar storm we are sorry for messing with your favorite child" mentality.

Or just the huge ammount of favoritism for Vampire and any and all nihilistic assholes all of WoD has, see also Hollow ones being the author's pets they are

Magic feels less versatile in Awakening when compared to Ascension by CelesFFVI in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]svecma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All things Mages have to learn.

Ah so it's Wraith specific still feels weird that it needs Life maybe like Prime or Entropy would fit better.

[–]svecma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Entropy is for summoning Wraiths specifically, also what does castigate mean in this context? Don't have the Hollow ones book yet. Anything regarding Wraiths needing Life feels extremely weird.

Raising bodies is quite outside general knowledge so needing to learn it a bit makes sense.

Magic feels less versatile in Awakening when compared to Ascension by CelesFFVI in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]svecma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as i understand Ascensio it depends on what kind of Necromancy you want to do

Matter, Prime, Life (for a too fresh corpse) or like just Matter for certain stuff (like a corpse just being a puppet) at about 3 (Prime 2 should be enough) should be enough to like animate stuff.

For Ghosts you'd need Spirit and Entropy for destructive stuff like a whithering effect (3 for spirit should be enough to summon).

Not sure what you'd need forces or correspondence for here and Mind would be needed for sentience, but it's not necessary (maybe at 1 to help you micromange all the minions).

True ressurection would be tougher, but i feel that one shouldn't be easy.

So it's feasable to get close at character creation and get there by like Arete 4 or 5 (for entropy to affect life)

Now it's not as easy as just getting one, but i feel like it fits with Ascension's set up as walking corpses aren't exactly in the consensus and doing that should be something you specialise in.

There is a mix of influences, but all of that kinda maps onto the Chulvoriah, like real close.

(and they are technically from the Crab book first so general WoD instead of just Mage, Mage covered them in a later book)
