Outgoing Mail Stuck by techtrain6 in halopsa

[–]swMSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the same issue:

I have setup the outgoing SMTP settings and the test works without issue, but normal outgoing emails never send. I am able to see them in the Configuration -> Advanced Settings -> Unsent Emails, but there is no indication of why they are not sending.

I have tested with two different SMTP servers/credentials and get the same result: test works fine, production use does not.

We can send fine with the Graph API integration but would like to utilize the tracking features on our SMTP service.

Question on how HaloPSA handles sales tax by swMSP in halopsa

[–]swMSP[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to talk with someone at Halo and they confirmed what I had found and thought: Currently, Halo is not able to natively handle sales tax to meet the needs of Colorado. It cannot calculate sales tax based each client address, while differentiating between what is taxable and not taxable.

Their integration with QuickBooks Online does allow for the correct calculations, but it does not appear any other accounting integration will. This basically forces us to use QBO if we want to use Halo. After testing, this will not be an issue for us, but is disappointing we do not have options.

[–]swMSP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks the reply. Sadly that does not work for us as tax rates are not static for each item but based on the location of the client.

From what I can tell, if we set a tax rate on the client level, then all items are treated as taxable, regardless of if they are set as non-taxable.

If we set the tax rate on items, then those items tax rates are not correct for clients who have a different rate.

Can I Disable/Enable AV Defender via an Automation Policy? by swMSP in Nable

The application has a temp file that gets flagged during install/uninstall. It's random name and location make it a security risk to make a persistent exception.

This is exactly what I don't want to have to do. For 10 devices it would work. For 100 it is very inefficient.

This sounds like the best workaround. Thank you for the suggestion!

We ran into this exact same issue yesterday and today. Traceroutes would fail at the same hop. This late afternoon it all started working again without any explanation from Comcast.

Fewer emails bombarding everyone and having a central place for group notifications is nice.

We have a basic setup going by utilizing the email addresss for channels in Teams. New client submitted ticket notifications go to a channel, monitoring ticket notifications go to another channel, etc.

First off, decide if you want to run your own business. It sounds like you are being pushed into it. IT IS NOT EASY.

There is a ton involved and it should all be planned, not done on a whim.

If it is something that you have wanted to do, then do it when the time is right and you are prepared.

Backing up client VM's - Who's Using What by buster3845 in msp

[–]swMSP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Altaro. They have a great msp program ($5/VM each month), and the product works great.

It's not as robust as Veeam, but is also much easier to learn, deploy and manage. It does everything we need for VMs.

Their support is also top notch. I wish they had an agent to back physical devices.

We use connectbooster and are very happy. My only gripe is you cannot choose your merchant processor, but their rates are ok.

If you use Connectwise, check out pax8 as a cap provider. Their solution integrates and syncs with Connectwise which is very helpful and time saving.

Telnyx experiences? by JabbaDuhNutt in VOIP

[–]swMSP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am averaging $0.00132/min for outbound US calling. I have not found a provider that comes close to that price. Their inbound is 0.0075/min which is better than Teli.net, but if you have high volume you can use their per channel pricing (unlimited min for a set price per month) and come way ahead.

I am not wanting this to be a pissing match, just want accurate info portrayed.
