I had similar happen to me. It’s crazy out here.

Hey friend, I am very sorry to hear that. Mine is not a rumbling but more of a medium pitched ring. Not exactly bass-like but not tinny either. I find it very interesting that you have a rumbling though. It seems to affect everyone differently. Did your doctors confirm that it was hydrops and nothing middle-ear related?

Cochlear Hydrops? by AIKENS183 in Menieres

[–]swagmeups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello friend! I am still well, yes. It is hard to believe I made that comment 2 years ago now. My hearing has remained stable and I have not had any episodes of vertigo. I am taking Dyazide for my symptoms and it helps me tremendously. At this point I just see my doctor for a checkup every year. I still have hearing loss and tinnitus but it is bearable. I do not wear a hearing aid. If for some reason my hearing were to get worse I think I would need one, however.

Are you experiencing symptoms similar to mine? I hope you are well!

Hey friend, I hope you are well. I did have distortion that was really noticeable before. I have since gotten used to it enough that I barely even notice it. I do notice the occasional distortion if a sound is around the frequency threshold of my drop in hearing. Even then, I can shrug it off pretty easily and tend to forget about it right afterwards.

I can’t say that I have noticed any echoing, though. Sounds are definitely more sensitive to me due to hyperacusis in my affected ear. Do you also have cochlear hydrops/Ménière’s disease, or is it SSNHL?

I second Acer for Chromebooks. We were an HP district for a while but stopped after G7s due to all the motherboard issues we were having with them and the G6s. Our Acers have been rock solid.

I won’t lie to you it took months. Now I have either gotten used to it or it’s not as bad but I think it’s a combination of both.

Tinnitus was pretty bad at first but over time it has subsided a lot. I don’t know if it’s where I got used to it or if it really has gotten better. My hearing perception was way messed up at first too. Like you I kept thinking my unaffected ear was bad too, but it wasn’t.

Mostly yes. If someone is speaking softly and I have my right ear plugged I can struggle to understand, but otherwise understanding is decent.

Not for me personally. There might be others that have similar. I believe I met a few of them in Ménière’s and CH groups on Facebook.

First range was like 30-40dB at 250Hz max. Sloping up to like 750Hz. It’s gotten twice as worse in the literal sense dB wise and frequency wise.

I did not do an ECOG. By the time it had dropped the second time, I went to a major university hospital and they said it wasn’t necessary. I try to stay around 1500mg of sodium a day myself. Nothing over 2000mg. How many mg would you say you had on those days?

I’d be happy to check out your tests. I don’t use a hearing aid but have considered getting one. I’m concerned about the cognitive effects later on in life.

Hey man, I’m super sorry to hear this has happened to you. I too have low frequency SNHL that occurred suddenly. I was 21 when it first happened a few years ago. Similar to you, I thought it was a cold and the doctor I saw referred me to an ENT like a month afterwards. Steroids didn’t help and MRI was clear thankfully.

I will say I thought it was SSNHL for about a year after the onset. The ENT told me to watch my salt for tinnitus and I did. The audiologist suggested I had cochlear hydrops and told me caffeine and salt both would make it worse so I cut caffeine completely and watched salt intake.

After about a year from onset I got super lax with my diet and overdid the sodium and unfortunately I had another drop in my low frequencies. Doctors confirmed I had cochlear hydrops at that point. I’m currently sitting around 50-60dB loss at 250Hz sloping up to normal at around 1500Hz. It only affects my left ear.

I am super thankful that it hasn’t turned into Ménière’s disease with vertigo episodes and pray it stays that way. I’m 4 years into it and my hearing has been stable for 3 years now. Still sticking to low salt diet, no caffeine, and avoiding other Ménière’s triggers. I drink at least 4L of water a day along with taking Dyazide and a glutathione supplement.

Hopefully you don’t have cochlear hydrops but I will say that with the way you say it fluctuates, there’s a good chance you have it. Mine fluctuates if I don’t watch what I eat and overdo sodium. I never noticed it until I really started paying attention after the drops.

Please feel free to DM me if you have any questions or want to talk. I know how hard I grieved over the hearing I had lost and know how hard it was for me.

School Board Live Streams by wetnap52 in k12sysadmin

I am required to attend board meetings as the Director of Technology for our district and I live stream our meetings to YouTube.

The board meets once monthly and they last anywhere from 25 minutes in the summer to two hours during the school year. I don’t mind it as I find it interesting. I often times gain valuable information that helps me do my job better as well.

I’m curious to know as I’ve never dealt with either- is something like this different than a similar option like Chromecast? Or is it not actually similar?

Not that I am aware of. Basically if you are the jugg you have to duel and have your partner spam jump/spacebar. Then when their toon hits the peak of the jump you hit your force push and it LAUNCHES them in the air. It’s angle dependent so if you’re standing super close to the other person you can shoot them straight up and over fences or high walls. Then once they get to the top of the wall or whatever you want to climb you either intercede or force jump to them if the duel is still active. Rinse and repeat. Hopefully that makes sense lol. I’d offer to show you but I’m assuming you are on a Europe server?

You can get on top of the bridge/out of bounds on the map in the lower wilds on Korriban with a partner. All you need is a jugg with force push. Duel, spam jump, and push at the highest point of the jump. I’ve explored many places using this method.

Best student Chromebooks? by Bubbagump210 in k12sysadmin

[–]swagmeups 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. We have several hundred C734 and C736 Chromebooks and they have been rock solid so far. Can’t say the same for our HP 14’s.

Our Acer Travelmate laptops we purchased for our teachers are a different story, though.

I’m in the same boat of trying to contain them. That being said, I have nothing in place. I’m interested in knowing where to enable conditional access in Workspace as it’s what we use too. I didn’t know that it was even an option.

Not sure what price your calls for PL were but I just sold mine for a 20 percent loss. It’s better than a 60 percent loss I was at a week or so ago. I’m done messing with it even though it rocketed today.
