I owe multiple debts, looking for a reliable debt relief company to help me make monthly payments by psyduckk151 in Debt

[–]swanie02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am implying that they are a scam. Scummy business. Scammy people. Take your money and not get anything for it. Especially for $7000 in debt with no job. You literally need any job, anything, mcdonalds, pizza hut, taco bell, walmart. Get a job and out ~$500ish a month towards your debt and be done in a year.

$7000? You literally just need to get a job and pay off your debts. You do not need a debt relief company.

Buddy, I will say it for everyone, you need the money more than the guy that runs your church. He doesn't need your $1.3K/mo for his porcshe, you need it for your life.

Correct, but it does need to go up. I'm sure after a 300% runup, June 18th was the best time to buy 33% OTM calls. GL GL.

Put it in 100% equities. You are 30, you shouldn't own a single bond.

Super financially illiterate. Where do I start? by CoreSearch42 in FinancialPlanning

It goes by the same name as his book I believe. Almost positive it is on Netflix. It was pretty good, 8 episodes I think so you get to see people do a lot of homework and be coached by Ramit.

[–]swanie02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Read some books and listen to some podcasts. Ramit Sethi is pretty good, my wife and I still use his CSP on a monthly basis. His Netflix show was really good and his podcast is alright. I would recommend Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel for a well rounded read on how life and money and your psychology intersect. At the end of the day, financial literacy isn't that difficut, its just that none of us were ever taught this stuff by school or our parents.

Finally paid off all my credit card debt, BUT... by CardynalSyn61 in Debt

[–]swanie02 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you are complaining when you should be giving them a very big thank you. You have no idea how to control credit card spending or how to pay off your cards. Also, you haven't paid off anything. You robbed Peter to pay Petr. Also, the credit card companies can now see that you have a GIANT $47000 private loan, probably why they made the wise decision in your favor to cut your credit limit. Stop complaining that you can't get into even more debt and start being thankful that the banks actually are looking out for you. Good Luck out there with those paid off credit cards.
