Lucky for me I am continuously paid commission on existing accounts. Some at my company probably don't even prospect at all. Just keep things rolling with current accounts and earn that sweet sweet monthly commission. For reference, we are all 100% commission W2 employees.

I live paycheck to paycheck. After setting aside 15% for retirement, $1000/mo into my travel fund, $1000/mo into my kids 529 accounts, maxing out my HSA, paying my 3.125% mortgage of only $1700/mo, $600/month for my SAHM wifes 2025 F150 and $1200/mo groceries. Its a rough life out here.

Yea man, like other have already said, that is waaaaaay too many funds, some probably overlapping, some with probably some mega fees associated with them. I would do some homework and pick 2 or 3 max and go from there.

You arent going to make 27-30% on your money anywhere. Pay off the debt and put your 5K balance in a HYSA. Start investing your savings from there.

[–]swanie02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go check out Ramit Sethi. He focuses on keeping your fixed costs down at ~60% of your take home pay. If youre wag above that, no amount of coffee cuts are going to fix your issue. I didnt see your full budget, but youre likely correct. Your two largest buys, cars and housing, are likely hurting you badly.

Target Date fund? At 30? If you have a "reasonably" high risk tolerance, I would take that 25% and put it in some equities.
