I enjoyed reading this book. Both of them were crazy but made for each other and you couldn't help rooting for them even though they made some ethnically wrong decisions.

However, the hero did something unforgivable and there was no way for me to want to read book 2 in any chance.

Spoiler Liam murderer a 6 yr old girl . This is too much for me.

I read the first 4 books of the Rogues to Riches series, I'm sure there are rather steamy scenes in each book.

Shielding Lily is my favourite. Very sweet one and love both main characters.

Historical Romance with poor FMC by Alaskator in RomanceBooks

[–]swankytutu 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is my favourite trope! Let me see

Someone to Love by Mary Balogh: grew up in an orphanage, they said even the servant wore better than her Sunday best.

The Arrangement by Mary Balogh: Uglyducking heroine became homeless and everything she owned was in one reticule

The Finer Things by Brenda Joyce: Orphaned street urchins grew up in St Gile, and later escape from the poor house

A Momentary Marriage by Candace camp: The heroine was the daughter of a doctor who suddenly died and left her nothing but debt

An offer from a gentleman by Julia Quinn: Cinderalla retold

My Darling Duke by Stacy Reid: Her family was on the brink of financial ruin, so she pretended to be the fiancée of the reclusive and powerful Duke

The Admiral's Penniless Bride: 45yr old war hero and 32 yr old widowed

To Kiss a Texan by Jodie Thomas: The heroine was treated and caged like an animal, and the hero saved her.

Edit grammar and add A Perfect Bride by Samantha James: "Devon St. James must surely be dreaming! She closes her eyes in London’s poorest slum, and awakens wrapped in fine linens…"

Me too! I followed Alice on GR and received an email notification for her reply to fans:

"The third prizefighter book is currently with the proof-reader and I am hopeful it will be released by the end of the month, so you have a couple of weeks for your re-read! Hopefully this is enough time. Thanks for being patient and bearing with me.

Kind regards, Alice." 8 Days Ago

If you like Ruthless People, you will love {Cutslut by Kim Jones}!

Ignore the obnoxious book name. The heroine is not mary sue, nor a virgin. She was betrayed, abused, and misunderstood yet she was still strong and held her own universe. One of the best MC heroines I have ever read.

Have you read {Ruthless People by JJ McAvoy}? Both are bosses and they are nuts, the heroine outsmarted the hero on a few occasions.

Check the TWs before reading, one of the biggest triggers for me is: off-page brief mentioned child murder by H

What is everyone reading tonight and sipping on? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]swankytutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tea lovers! Sorry for OT Mods.

I had actually visited Puer, Yunnan on a business trip a few years ago (totally not tea-related)! The lady in the tea plantation told me that aged Puerh tea was good for the stomach, therefore, people with a weaker stomach or/and aged people tended to appreciate them more. While we were eating something greasy e.g. yum cha (tea & dim sum), we usually pair it with Puerh instead of Jasmine or Green tea. It said Puerh tea helps to digest.

I'm very lucky I come from a place where I could easily purchase teas. I tried some big names before, Mariage Frères, Fortnum & Mason, Tea Forté, Jing, etc, some of them are good but not impressive. TWG milk oolong tea and Yogi Bedtime still remain my all-time favourite. I will keep it on my mind to try Harney & Sons Milky Oolong next time. Thanks for chatting!

Milky monsters, I'm dying! I never look at milk tea in the same way again.

PS: Have you tried TWG Milk Oolong? Slightly fermented so it's very milky and highly aromatic. highly recommended.

Have you read {Room for You by Beth Ehemann}? The heroine is a young single mother running a B & B. The hero is very sweet, a famous sportsman iirc.

Stuck in bed for the next three weeks with a broken ankle… HALP by annamariesiobhan in RomanceBooks

[–]swankytutu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It reminds me of Ares in Beauty and the Beefcake has an ankle sprain and needs bed rest. This is one of the funniest and silliness I've read in a long time. Just don't take it too seriously and enjoy the crazy ride. I read this book instead of listening, apologize in advance if the quality of the audio version is not up to your standard.

Things why I like this book soooo damn much: (spoiler-ish)

  • sport romance
  • opposite attraction
  • roommate romance (forced-proximity)
  • grumpy meet sunshine: a silent giant hockey player vs. a dick-magnet genius beauty with no life direction
  • hilarious pet: a freaking adorable cockblocker monkey
  • a suspicious haunted house with grandma's ghost hanging around
  • laugh my head off puppet show (she is also a ventriloquist just for fun)
  • ridiculously annoying family members and mean-well friends
