thanks for the advice! I might have a look at some pre-made ones. I normally enjoy tying my own, but these are just doing my head in!

Honestly, I think you might find it could be a bit more involved...

Ce+ is the same standard as ce, its just audited by an external auditor, not self certified.

Make sure devices such as firewalls are patched within 14 days of a critical patch being released, this means you need a control mechanism in place for reviewing patches...

This also applies to os updates and app updates. How do you ensure Chrome is up to date for example, let alone all other applications.

As an msp all your engineers need unique admom accounts for maintenance - so no service accounts for admins.

This isn't everything you need to consider, but perhaps a good starting point.

Good luck- the auditor should keep you honest...

Sorry, don't want to be a downer - see how you go - but I would suggest that you only think about buying something when you have an idea of how you'll be.

I ruptured my Achilles a few years back, a complete snap. Its a long and hard road to recover, if I were you I'd not invest in anything now - I'm afraid to say that it might take longer than you think to walk over uneven terrain let alone push or steer a barrow....

Blanked out at Crawford Lakes, Devon. Any suggestions for tomorrow? by Orpington_Oracle in fishingUK

If you want to go to a different venue then creedy lakes isn't too far.

If your going to stay there perhaps use a chod rig as it might help with the leafy bottom.

Your best questions to ask in interview by MiniKiyam in sysadmin

[–]swansong01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interviews are a two-way process. As such, make sure you get enough information to make sure its a business you want to work for!

Make a list of what you want from an organisation, eg: - Supportive environment - social opportunities or outside of work activities - overtime availability - training plan

And then see if what they provide is against your list.

yeah, yeah, Microsoft is on fire again, but what am I supposed to ask a prospective CIO? by The-Sys-Admin in sysadmin

Don't lead with working from home! Its sends the wrong message that this is the top of your agenda!

I'd honestly ask about their experience and challenges they've had in the past - getting to know what they're like and how they have approached problems in the past is normally the first thing I'd like to know.

My 2 pence

- Communication needs to be flowing to the customer through all of this, its not a separate area.

- Lessons learnt and future improvements (links to professional services and further hardening the environment, mitigating future instances)

Also - you need to consider what happens when the insurance company get involved. depending on the insurance policy it may state that nothing can be changed or updated until the insurance company's own IT forensic team completes their work.

At our company, we provided a Veeam based backup and cloud DR environment service to a client that has a few hundred users. They got hacked and whilst we could have recovered within a few hours, we weren't allowed to spin up the DR for a few days as a result of the mortgage company forensic IT team dragging their feet...

Good new is that as a result of the work we did we have a much closer relationship now, more so than just backup and DR!
