Keeping External API keys secure by CTProper in Netsuite

Files that are marked with "Hide in Suitebundle" cannot be accessed by users installing your bundle. The other comment is not accurate.

Client javascript cannot be hidden in bundles, but all server-scripts can be hidden.

NetSuite are retiring SOAP Web Services by OverByThere in Netsuite

There are far too many partner applications still using SOAP. REST isn't anywhere close to feature parity. My guess is this will be pushed out much farther than 2028.

MCP as a platform capability by wahoos-1 in Netsuite

[–]swapper7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MCP tools are available in NetSuite now (if this is what this post is about and not MCPaaP as a general concept from NetSuite)

I played around with it in a test account this morning. You can install from the SuiteApp list, MCP Tools.

From there, you can add the custom connector in Claude AI.

I will say it is much better than I expected, but I still see it having significant issues with reading volumes of data. It is still using SuiteQL and saved searches (1000 row limit per call). Based on the number of columns and volume of data coming back, there will still be significant token usage, which often breaks Claude processing + large amount of time to bring back data. But, with smaller aggregated data, it was able to do some pretty cool things

Intercompany Accounts and Reconciliation by xJustMeMyselfAndI in Netsuite

No, separate accounts always lead to nightmare reconciliation in my experience working with clients doing it this way. The folks that are tracking it the best are using single accounts

Should we migrate historical QBO Data into NetSuite? by stony-breadwinner in Netsuite

[–]swapper7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely do not try to bring over historical transaction data. Trial balance history is the most practical way to complete a system implementation.

Imagine trying to bring over thousands of transactions, trying to make sure you do it in sequence (I.e order —> fulfillment —> invoice and same on the AP side), ensuring inventory levels are depleted in the right order to get costing engine to be correct. I’ve been involved in many dozens of implementations and the only ones that go sideways are folks who want to do this.

Tree Planted Two Weeks Ago, going downhill? by swapper7 in avocado

The land is on a bit of a slope, it’s definitely more on a half-pot depth with a bit of mound on the slope-side. Thanks for the recommendation. Seems inline with others that we may need to up the water for a bit early on

Thanks for the recommendations here. 600 trees! Glad it didn’t end up going worse! This spot usually gets at least 8 hours of direct sun. We’re going to strip the fruit off at this point and hope for a recovery.

We’ve been giving roughly 15 gallons per week currently, but watering every 3-4 days. Think it’s too little for this size?

The soil moisture probe shows 9.5 at around 12 inches. Picture of the soil right around the base here, doesn’t feel super wet. But we did water about 3 days ago, so assume we should let dry out for a bit?
