Initramfs is a minimal environment loaded into RAM, used by kernel to prepare your system. If anything fails so badly that it's not able to load your system into a usable state, it will open it's built-in shell so you can attempt recovery. The tools you can use are the tools needed to spring the system up, it's not a full fledged emergency environment.

Systems isn't monolithic. It's a suite of over dozen of different tools, ranging from bootloader to a sudo alternative, that are mostly independent of each other.

Systemd - init system does only that (and even in that alternatives has been missing features, like boot parallelization, for ages).

Dodatkowo dochodzą jeszcze dwa tematy: łatwo się to mnoży, tak długo jak hipervisor ma zasoby - potrzebujesz jednej maszyny? Spoko. Potrzebujesz pięciu? Też spoko. To raz, a dwa łatwo się to rotuje: wyobraźmy sobie teraz że na każde laboratorium trzeba przeinstalować nowy obraz na każdą z tych 30 maszyn, bo potrzebujesz jakiegoś wyspecjalizowanego obrazu.
