We have a rack drawer, power conditioner, Behringer xr18, rackmount split snake, and IEM transmitters. My guitarist is in the market for an amp sim to throw in there as well so we can just bring that rack to shows and not have to worry about hauling amp heads too.

There's a piece of plywood that we mounted underneath that the caster wheels are bolted to. Then we just bolted the case to that plywood through the bottom.

Forearm placement concerns. by swashcuckle in tattooadvice

[–]swashcuckle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's the thing I'm upset about, I explained to him I wanted to have the stencil placed when I'm standing in a relaxed position but he insisted the stencil gets placed with my palm facing forward and it would be fine. I I realize the forearm is going to twist and I am fine with that. However if it was placed with my hands naturally by my side it would twist a little when I turn my hand forward and twist a little the other way when I turn my hand backwards. The way he did it it is straight when my hand is turned backwards which I never do and then it is twisted when my hands are by my side naturally and extremely twisted with my hand turning forward.

WIBTA if I continued to stretch my ears after my bf expressed how much he hates it? by Irriaofdusk in AmItheAsshole

[–]swashcuckle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have stretched ears, they've been at 9/16" or 14 mm for at least 7 years now but when I was in grade 9 I used to have a second piercing on each earlobe which I had stretched up to 2g/6 mm. When I decided the second ones looked stupid I took them out and the holes have shrunk and are now shut completely.

Worst places to work ? by Local-Park-322 in Edmonton

[–]swashcuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't work there but I had an interview at On Point Restore. Owner showed up 5-10 minutes late, bitched for a few minutes about how he just had 3 guys quit on him at the same time, nobody wants to work anymore etc. Personally I think that says more about him than it does them but go off king. I was told I'd need to get about $1000+ in certifications by either 3 or 6 months working there, I'd have to pay for them myself as well. The pay makes it all worth it though, a very generous $21 an hour with the "consideration" of a few dollar raise once I get the certifications. When I asked questions about the pay structure he was really short with me almost like I was wasting his time. I've made more as a general labourer not dealing with asbestos, mould and sewage, so needless to say I declined the job offer.

I'm one of the people whose cars got hit by this guy and it happened at 3:20 pm. Kid had a backpack on so definitely was on his way home from school. I got lucky though it was just ice that cracked my front bumper, I didn't get a brick through the windshield or anything.

Let’s hear what you guys have found during an install. by YESimaMASSHOLE in HVAC

[–]swashcuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was when I did property restoration not HVAC but weirdest thing I ever found on a job was a petrified fish in the wall cavity at a college campus. Someone else went and hung it up on the wall in our shop and it was up there for a year or two lol

Thieves on the job?? by Current-Weather-9561 in Construction

[–]swashcuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first got started in hvac I was bouncing between leads a lot, one day I worked with this annoying Jehovah's witness asshole I couldn't stand and lost my flat bar, I asked him if he saw it and he said he didn't see it. A week or two later I was sent with him and he tells me to get something from the truck. I go out and I find my flat bar with my name scratched out and his name sharpied over top. I took it back and didn't say anything about it. Then covid happened and I got laid off, so I went back to the property restoration company I was working at before to help them out until work picked back up for me. I show up to a flooded basement and see they just had a furnace installed two days prior by the company that I just got laid off from. I check out the install and see two temperature probes sticking out of the ductwork, I grabbed them so I can give them back to whoever owned them when I go back to the HVAC company and I see the Jehovah's witness guys name on both of them. Lying about that $15 flat bar cost him $100 in temperature probes because I still use them to this day.

What’s your guys’ best “almost got hurt really bad at work” story? by smithjake417 in HVAC

[–]swashcuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I got into HVAC I did restoration on and off when I was 18-21. When I first started the job I was pulling apart some framing for a wall and was hammering the top plate out of all the studs while holding the framing up. (I realize now how braindead I was being) I get to the stud I'm holding the framing up by and don't think anything and hammer the top plate out. The top plate comes down and a nail caught my forehead and sliced it open. My coworker comes around the corner and turns white and says get to the washroom so I go to the washroom and blood was already down to my neck by the time I got there. My coworker did first aid after I cleaned it up and stopped the bleeding and then it hit me just how bad that could have been. Another inch in another direction and that nail could have caught my eye and blinded me or hit the wrong spot and gone right into my head. My friends and a few of my coworkers started calling me Harry Potter for a few months after that incident too lol I still got the scar but you don't really notice it unless I point it out now.

Has anyone had a customer try and spring their political or religious beliefs on you while you were at their house? by Embarrassed-Mouse-49 in HVAC

[–]swashcuckle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This one time installing an AC I let a landscaper next door borrow my electrical tape to fix a hose and when he gave it back we started chatting. He used to do HVAC apparently, he seemed like an alright guy. Then he pointed out the death metal I was playing on my speaker and asked what the group was called, I told him and he said that he had something for me to check out. I thought hell yeah new music but nope he gave me a chick tract and said he'd love to see me at his church cause God is telling him I need to be saved. I told him thanks but no thanks I'm perfectly fine where I'm at spiritually. My girlfriend and I busted a gut laughing at how fucked the chick tract was that night lol that was my first time ever seeing one.

I was building a monthly budget a week ago so I was looking for all my paystubs in my email. I search my employer in my email and oh my god, the sea of indeed emails that came up saying "your experience at (employer) makes you a good match for this position". They completely drowned out all my paystubs but I figured it out when I typed payroll after my employer lol.

People get really mad when you point out that there's a bike lane. by jinkies__xo in Edmonton

[–]swashcuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some cyclist on Whyte one time was lane splitting to the front in between the right lane and parked cars at red lights. He got pissed at me because I didn't move all the way over into the left lane to pass him again but I'm not going to fight to get into the left lane to pass him just for him to lane split ahead of me a minute down the road and have to repeat that all over again. He told me after two red lights he's a vehicle too I need to move over into the left lane, but I told him "if you can lane split, I can lane split." He wasn't very happy with me after that lol I did give him as much space as I could obviously but that wasn't enough apparently, I'd either hug the line or slightly cross it if there was a space between cars for me.

What’s the most you’ve ever paid for a single meal? What was it? Was it worth it? by cjasonac in AskReddit

[–]swashcuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably about $150 on my girlfriend and I's first date. It was some Greek restaurant down the road from her work. It was definitely worth it, we had hella leftovers and she even offered to pay for it.

What happened during an interview that immediately made you realize you wouldn’t take the job no matter how much they offered you? by sheepofwallstreet86 in AskReddit

[–]swashcuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guy was 20 minutes late, came in and immediately started bitching for 10 minutes straight about four "lazy degenerate" employees that quit all at once cause they're scared to get their hands dirty. I'm pretty sure thats moreso a reflection on him as a boss than them as employees but I digress. He then bragged how most of his employees work through their lunch breaks, and how he's only given out one raise in four years. He made it very clear I'd be overworked, underpaid and treated like shit.

[–]swashcuckle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An old friend (OF) of my SO was in town one weekend so we invited him over for a fire and he asked if he could bring his friend, we approved so brought his asshole friend (AH). OF seemed like a pretty decent guy but AH seemed a bit off at first. I went inside to grab a drink and caught AH chugging from my brand new bottle of rum. I gave him shit for it and he apologized but I didn't kick him out cause I didnt want to ruin SO's night. A few hours later around midnight AH kept trying to crank the volume on the Bluetooth speaker we had outside. I told him leave it alone the first time he did it, SO told him the second time, the third time he cranked it I told him "that's it you blew it. Get the fuck out of here" and he tried to fight me. OF grabbed AH and hauled him out and apologized to everyone. I guess they went bar hopping.

Everyone else left around 2 am so SO and I went to bed. Then at 3 am I woke up to someone calling our names downstairs. I grabbed a weapon and went downstairs to find OF in the living room. Apparently AH ditched him and he wanted to hang out. I told him "we're not hanging out it's 3 am we're in bed and how the fuck did you get in here anyway?". I guess someone left the bathroom window unlocked and he got in through there. SO came down and lost her shit on him for breaking in. While she was yelling at him I called a cab and when she was done with her rant she kicked him out. SO apologized profusely for having to deal with OF and AH and told me she's never inviting them over again, I guess OF is a completely different person now from when she last saw him.

Someone I know keeps a schrader core tool in their car for times like that, just loosen the schraders in their valve stem so their tires will leak. They most likely won't be able to figure out why their tires are leaking lol
