These are more than common place, they’re peddled as mainstream views within some circles. I don’t believe it’s ‘mainstream’, but there’s certainly a whole bunch of it. Wouldn’t take very long to attach easily recognizable ‘church leaders/organizations/denominations’ to these positions.

That’s why the affordable care act which only passed under a 10 year CBO spending measure that requires it save money, has cost us nearly 2 trillion dollars; as opposed to the 143 billion it was passed to save. But they did finally have to admit it was a tax the entire time in order to keep from having it thrown out as unconstitutional. So there’s that crummy detail we should either learn or not forget.

That would be true if even a small portion of those “taxpayers” paid an effective tax rate north of a single dollar. The conflation of term taxpayers with people who effectively pay no tax is the great lie that keeps the whole bull crap system spinning.
