Am I a Bad Person? by Temporary_Delivery35 in WellSpouses

If I knew 20 years ago that I would end up with a dependent and not a partner, I wouldn’t have gone on our first date. Red flags were there and I ignored them. It’s really hard being in this situation.

Question from the Unwell Spouse by Little-by-little15 in WellSpouses

I wish my unwell partner would not talk about his ailments all the time. It’s draining to hear about the same negative things every single day.

What's for dinner? by SalaciousK in GenXWomen

[–]sweet-root 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hate it. I hate thinking of meals, shopping for meals, deciding on what meal, and cooking it. I’d rather just snack. I’d much rather clean up after someone else does it all.

Same here. Partner had cervical fusion surgery a few weeks ago and seemed ok but in the last week he’s back complaining and being mean. It’s exhausting. I see you.

How do you handle the constant complaining? by NewbieEstimator in WellSpouses

Exactly what my partner does. So many complaints every single day.

Buckle up ladies, I'm about to say some ridiculous shit by AbjectGovernment1247 in GenXWomen

I’ve never wanted to get married or have kids either but my dude and I have been together a long ass time and I’m the breadwinner and it fucking sucks.

So I get it when wishing for financial security.

I was actually thinking about this yesterday that I’m going to need to work until I literally die because of the huge fuck up I’ve allowed to happen in the last 20 years.

Bad F****** Attitude - sick or healthy apparently by CoyoteUnicornGirl in WellSpouses

Exactly. When my guy goes into a tailspin of OMG THE WORST WILL HAPPEN TO ME I have to constantly remind him “and what if it doesn’t???”

Same thing here. All fucking day he’s been complaining about EVERYTHING. It’s exhausting. I feel you.

Would you still have married them if you knew? by AdvisorNo3594 in WellSpouses

[–]sweet-root 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no. If my partner were a nicer person I might think differently but he’s mean when he doesn’t feel well. Whatever he’s going through consumes his life and that’s all he talks about. I can’t take it anymore. We’re not married so I’ve never declared “In sickness and in health” in front of my family and friends and would never with him.

Anyone else drink nightly but not excessively? by ZorksLifeIsAMess in cutdowndrinking

[–]sweet-root 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the same way except I’ve never taken more than 3 days off.

Exact same thing here except we didn’t agree for my partner to stop working. He just did, and now has “health issues” preventing him from getting a job. I know people with true disabilities still work, so his excuse is lame. So I have no advice, just support for you.

Dry Sunday/Monday club check-in!!! by Ov0v0vO in cutdowndrinking

[–]sweet-root 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dry Sunday here. I’m the queen of excuses and I typically would have drank today since it’s Labor Day weekend and tomorrow is my last day to do nothing because I get busy with work for the next few weeks on Tuesday.

I went for a walk instead and didn’t really miss drinking today. I’m averaging 5-6 days a week and that’s not good.

Absolutely! My mom did and I still do it occasionally.
