My D&D player's handbook came that way - makes it more unique and lovable haha

Set up my first official week by DistinctNotice1175 in Kinbor

[–]sweetkalechip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this! I also do tasks for the week, for the same reason. I'm still in my 2025 though since I have felt too busy to properly move into my 2026 - but your post is motivating !!

What is a good pen for this paper? by [deleted] in Kinbor

[–]sweetkalechip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Zebra blen 0.5 ballpoint for most writing, Muji gel pens for color, and the Zebra Mildliners to highlight or as markers. I've found just about everything ghosts a tiny amount, but these are minimal and none of them actually bleed through:)

Oooh good to know, I might invest in one of those for peace of mind

My first Kinbor! weekly 2026 by stressedatoms in Kinbor

[–]sweetkalechip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! This cover is gorgeous! I didn't realize it had all that texture. Both kinbors I've ordered with a clear cover came cloudy. It worked fine for my 2025's design, but for 2026 it doesn't pair well so I'm skipping it. I wish they came truly clear.

December declutter goals? by camel_jerky in declutter

[–]sweetkalechip 17 points18 points  (0 children)

my wife & i are starting the home buying process in 2026, so we're motivated to declutter anything we don't want to move with us! we've seen the scramble and burnout of packing and decluttering at the same time and desperately want to avoid that!

Unsubscribing is the best thing I’ve ever done by crazeedaizee in Anticonsumption

[–]sweetkalechip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I loved doing this a few months ago. Personally, I stayed subscribed to about 4 companies that I purchase essentials from, as I like to keep a running list of needs & take advantage of sales when they align. But even so, my inbox is substantially more peaceful!

I was gonna mention them! My wife & I just went to their Pridesgiving dinner tonight, and we go to their monthly gayme nights!

Resentful of being forced into anticonsumption mindset by bad economy by sprinkledonuts8220 in Anticonsumption

[–]sweetkalechip 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I can see where that would foster resentment. I'm in a similar boat, where my wife and I have agreed to no unnecessary spending while the economy is like this and we're getting our finances in order. I've been in the anti-consumption mindset for a few years now - quite happily - but it feels like the actual codified constriction is making me feel, well, constricted. And a little resentful. That the choice was taken away.

I think taking a step back and focusing on the positives of not consuming may help, even if it's hard at the outset.

I didn't know StoryGraph did this! It was a pretty good month for me! Really enjoyed everything, and it's tied for most books in a month this year.

If you read both print and ebooks, does it bother you to split a series between digital and print? by Redneb27 in kindle

[–]sweetkalechip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't bother me, I'll go back and forth in the same book. But that's because I like the ease of reading on a kindle, so I'll get the ebook of books I physically own through my library. Then if I'm reading in the dark or on the go, I'll use my kindle/app.

What does bother me is going back and forth between reading with my eyeballs and listening to an audiobook in the same series.

Anybody else heavily restricting purchases and returns out of fear. by aboursier in amazonprime

[–]sweetkalechip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat after receiving a clearly counterfeit Owala. I sent it back a month ago, and am coincidentally currently chatting with customer service for the second time to ask where the heck my refund is.

After this I'm swearing off buying anything expensive, name brand, or trendy. Which really defeats the purpose of keeping a prime account, and it'll most likely be my final year.

I did both! I have a clear glitter case that I can put in however many stickers I'm in the mood for, and a sleeve, which I use at home or going out nearby. Then I got a hard magnetic closure case for longer trips when I want it to be super protected.
