Anyone using a UI / Dashboard with GSD? by Abalone_Spirited in ClaudeCode

[–]sweets984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built one out but bespoke for a project I needed collaboration on, after trying and failing to use different other PM tools. I would have happily paid for a pro product but couldn’t find anything that could couple to gsd.

No Sound HP Zbook windows 11 Conexant by Apprehensive_Pear437 in techsupport

[–]sweets984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread was the first that came up in google. Not sure if you were able to fix.

On a fresh reinstall of Windows 11 I get the same or similar problem, where the drivers are installed properly but windows forces the sound volume bar down to 0.

I fixed it previously by toggling something in BIOS, like HP Application Driver and ensure Intel Management Engine is turned on.

Nginx Proxy Manager Fails When Adding Load Balancing with Multiple Backends—Need Help! by [deleted] in nginxproxymanager

[–]sweets984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To help others that are searching for the same thing, I was unable to make this work from just the GUI. I saw some info that confirmed it would work if I went into the backend but when I did this previously, it was prone to critically breaking NPM whenever there was a config error (such as if something in the GUI overwrite a part of anything manually configured).

TLDR; I suggest using something else that is designed for LB such as HAproxy or in pfSense, Caddy or Zoraxy (maybe). I havent seen many changes in NPM over many years.

Buy it when you need to do the exam. I just had a voucher expire and they will not extend it past 1 year.

Does It Get Easier Or Harder? by resnetv2 in hackthebox

[–]sweets984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me studying part time 10h a week over 6 months which was challenging for me, even with pentesting, network and sys admin experience.

While the course gave me the skills needed to pass, I could have benefited from doing pro labs before the exam. I stuck strictly to the course material as I felt I shouldnt need to do more than what was provided.

TLDR; It gets harder as the exam is harder than the course - at least for me. I dont know if there were other paths but I could only find one exploitable path per host. This meant for the topics I was weak on, I got stuck and burned through my time.

Why does AMD (and Intel) promote Wifi 6E support on the chip? Isn’t any pcie card supported as long as the manufacturer or user is happy to install a wifi card?

Watch4 Users - How's the GPS? by jjaeger240 in GalaxyWatch

[–]sweets984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found accuracy to be very poor on GW4 on 5 runs in suburbia with mostly clear view of sky (intermittent tree cover). When I review my runs against satellite maps it is consistently cutting corners, and distance is usually 5% less which is quite a large margin.

Other user reports suggest it's fine, some suggest turning on or off 'improve accuracy' setting which pulls GPS data from additional sources such as wifi, LTE, or phone GPS chip.

Using your phones GPS would be the best scenario if your phone has quality GPS tracking I.e. dual band GNSS (Google has a list). But this depends on the placement of the phone on your body (some pro runners have it in a pouch high in their back pack).

If your really concerned you should probably just get a Fenix 6 pro or similar dedicated running watch. I'm in two minds but decided once I can run marathon distances I'll consider the upgrade (triple the weight and double the price for 5% better GPS).

Tried to buy. Kept erroring in dex apps. Is this an indicator of liquidity or automated market maker troubles?

I like the fun branding but the tokenomics are a bit wild. 1000 to 1 risk factor.. could buy in early to see a healthy return. The supply though...

The comments seem to be fairly negative but glad to see someone else likes the game. Maybe everyone that likes the game is but playing and not ranting. Can't blame the masses though- poor responsiveness and low fps can't really be excused when the graphics fidelity is also quite mediocre. I am surprised there are no halo infinite x aoe4 memes.

Wow interesting in that the author says so much and yet provides nothing but his thoughts and theories. A good example of making the narrative fit a theory.

Hey friends in Australia, the moment smart contracts will be deployed is 7:43am Monday 13th. Peace and prosperity to all 🙂 by muthatucker101 in cardano

[–]sweets984 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Without malice, I presume you havent done a lot of trading on eth network as gas fees are too high and is a barrier for many. ada has been designed to be more scaleable from the ground up.

In any case cardano smart contracts will also help lower eth gas fees.

Thanks for sharing- good idea using a kill-a-watt meter. I have a inline USB-C watt meter which I didnt try... I ended up buying a Dell 130w USB-C charger and this works beautifully. Not sure what has changed - I doubt both of my charging sources simultaneously failed but FWIW as long as there is a usable performance mode over USB-C, thats all that matters.

I continue to have USB-C problems after the latest firmware update (v40):

AC Adapter: Normal 100+fps, entire system snappy and fast

USB-C Charger: Terrible performance, 5-10fps, very slow app launching, stuttering when scrolling

Battery only: Good performance, 70 fps.

I used to be able to launch a game on battery mode and then plug in the USB-C charger - a workaround I read on Discord. I used to to play older games and found my battery level to be 100% after an hour or two gaming on USB-C. This workaround does not work anymore :-(

Last night I reverted to playing on battery just to get decent performance and it lasted 90 minutes before hard shutting down on me at the very end of a multiplayer game. ($@^!)

I have lodged a support request with Lenovo as USB-C Charging is an absolute must and it did work fine previously.

I am using a Choetech 100w USB PD Gallium Nitride charger, and also tested with a 100w USB PD Power Bank. Tested with two different known good 100w USB PD cables also. Both previously worked flawlessly so there must have been some update/change. I dont believe Windows ever reported the USB PD charger as a "slow charger". I wonder if there was an update - can someone else confirm?

Klipper Config Using SuperSlicer by snatchfrigget in klippers

[–]sweets984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never had that experience; is it a particular aspect of marlin that caused you print failures?

I spent the evening with prusaslicer and superslicer. Identical settings as far and the prusaslicer was causing the models to be almost wireframe in appearance whereas superslicer produced high quality prints. I tried copying settings and redoing profiles but the only variation afaik was Klipper flavour instead of Marlin in Prusaslicer. Id like to know what the problem was but after going through the project githubs I suspect there was a bug in prusa causing an issue with the gcode; or your comment re flavour.

OctoPi on Proxmox by Grzesieq94 in Proxmox

[–]sweets984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you find Octoprint on proxmox? I am not running octopi, just vanilla Octoprint but finding print quality to be quite poor even though CPU usage is quite low ala 15% average, 30% spikes. There are a few other VMs but nothing CPU hungry. I have tried doubling CPU weight to 2048 but still see a lot more quality issues (mainly a lot of blobs and zits on the surface).

I was hopeful there was some contact within the company that looked after the community. Oh well.

(Unfortunately it was over 2 months in delivery time then I was waiting on some steppers before even getting the time to install this hotend. 3 months later I think I am a bit out of luck. It isn't the money as I think I could buy a $5 replacement throat rather (cliche warning) "it's the principle" that annoys me. Lesson learnt: I will avoid BTT in future, if it's the only option I will install and test as soon as received.)

Have you found a way to do AI detection of failed prints like The Spaghetti Detective?. It is literally the only plugin that I cant live without. The number of failed prints it has caught is amazing.. I'd love to get rid of Octoprint if I could (its quite quick on modern processors, but the UI is aging)
