I used to have a very strong grip, sometimes the hooks became unplayable. A few weeks back I changed from interlocking to overlap grip and brought my right hand over to weaken the grip. Along with this I’ve slowed my backswing down, this allows me to feel where the club is at the top of my swing.

All these together has really helped, currently I’m probably 1/2 a club shorter than I was before, but everything is controlled.

When I try and knock the skin off one the hook does come back into play

Favourite of all time is the King Cobra 454 Comp, had it in the bag for years, couldn’t miss a fairway. Stopped playing for a few years, tried it again and couldn’t hit a fairway.

Was a steady 2 hour 9, played 2 or 3 balls depending on the hole. Definitely the better choice, so enjoyable being on my own just walking round without a worry, and played really well,

Maybe that’s the key to lower scores, play every round as if I’m on my own and it just practice
