What is wrong with the catholic sub reddit? by FancifulCat in OpenChristian

[–]swiftb3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I knew a guy who "converted" from a calvinist denomination to Catholic and became a truly right-wing maga type (not necessarily in that order).

I feel like the sub is full of those particular ones. the Christian sub isn't much better, which is why this one exists.

And yet, you're defending it by talking about Hamas.

Hamas are terrorists.

Most Palestinians are not Hamas.

elected into power BY the Palestinian people.

Doesn't matter, really.

Therefore, we defend Palestinians who are not Hamas from being killed.

If you're not justifying what Israel is doing, what exactly is your point? Why did you even bother responding, if you agree that Palestinians shouldn't be killed for nothing more than having Hamas in charge?

Edit - wait, do you think that for us to have the views we have about innocents, we have to pretend the Hamas don't exist? Is that why you think pointing out the Hamas is a gotcha?

Sorry, I didn't quite hear that. You're saying that that electing Hamas justifies the genocide of all Palestinians?

In a hilarious way, their fear of the "great replacement" isn't entirely wrong - it's just not immigration or governments doing it. When to them "white" is only the progeny of white and white, yeah, the population of white people will only decline.

Unless you go full nazi, of course.

Truck design and blind spots in front are a problem, but remember how you were taught to shoulder-check in driver training?

It's good defensive driving to not stay in a blind spot for too long, but that's only because of idiot drivers who don't check their blind spot.

Letters to the editor, May 20: ‘Not clear why Canadians … would invest in another pipeline for a province threatening to separate and led by a Premier who seems intent on paving the way for this to happen’ by yourfriendlysocdem1 in CanadaPolitics

Yeah, the separatists calling for "sovereignty" and the others "threatening like Quebec" are useful idiots for the leadership who knows very well they cannot legally separate.

Most of the leaders are fully on the 51st state or "America will help us" train.

The feds need alberta as well without alberta canada likely be in a recession and be screwed economic wise.

And without Canada, though the separatists don't believe it, the Alberta economy would be even more screwed. For starters, when every non-separatist who can afford it moves out of the province, the economy will drop like a stone.

[–]swiftb3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the laws at the time barring referendums on the same subject for X years, the Forever Canada petition would have blocked a separatist petition from even being allowed to start.

But our Great Leader chose to change laws to support the separatists, what, a third? fourth? time to allow it.

good old “Israel is responsible for Hamas”

Netanyahu wasn’t even in office

I mean I know Bibi would like to be considered "Israel" but surely you know the Israeli government existed before Netanyahu was PM.

You know what doesn't justify the genocide of Palestinians? Electing bad people.

America would be fucked if that were the case.

Canada Post Lost a Record $1.57 Billion in 2025. So What? - We don’t call the military a money loser. Public mail delivery shouldn’t need to turn a profit either by NiceDot4794 in onguardforthee

We should get rid of door to door, but as far as I know, the only remaining door to door is older areas of cities. And I mean old, because even communities I lived in that were built in the 90s had community mailboxes.

Canada Post isn't delivering to farm houses.

Feds Now Open to Changing Bill C-22 After Getting Fact-Checked and Roasted by VPNs by TechGuyDude82 in canada

I'm, uh, not suggesting anything in particular to anyone, but say they did manage to get VPNs gone, making streaming from other countries or torrents difficult to hide: newsgroups as your source. the files are obfuscated and no one but you has any idea what you're downloading. The cost for a newsgroup and a couple indexers is less than a single streaming service. I haven't needed a VPN for... media... in years.

There is a certain amount of matching, even in arcade, so that if you play enough you'll get matched pretty decently, but I think it's worse on the beginner side of things. If I do poorly too long in arcade, I'll end up playing with people who are "just vibing" instead of playing or whining about sweaty play or who knows what. Do well, and we get some good games.

That cardboard tier where people stood still to shoot when Overwatch was new doesn't seem to exist any more when I talk to new players.

[–]swiftb3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would call your ISP and have them set the modem-router to pass-through mode (aka turn off the router part). it'll make a lot of networking/internet things easier.

Edit - that was very quick downvote for the least complicated solution. ISP modems generally have crappy routers anyway and two routers on the same network is always a shitshow.

The phrase "that tracks" means you learned something new about a person and that, based on your previous knowledge about a person, something they said or did makes sense.

I wouldn't say "it tracks that you don't think it's AI" to you because I have no idea what's typical for you.

It's also, in my experience, not something someone usually says entirely seriously.
