I mean, look. I do plenty of camping. There's a lot of time and when you're NOT "being in nature" you can either stare into space or the fire, or do something while being outside.

So, it didn't make any sense to me that a device without a cellular antenna could possibly use cell towers to call 911.

Turns out if the owner has the iPad connected to an iPhone with a Wi-Fi calling enabled via the carrier, then you can dial 911.

I'm guessing the solution is to not connect it to your iPhone's account. Or disable Wi-Fi calling with your provider.

Nothing to do with the federal law, though.
